I am looking for someone to paint the interior of our condo's common area. We are also considering replacing our carpets with laminate flooring, which would require the installation of baseboards and trim up stairs.
The building's common area is approximately 246 sq. ft. over 2 floors.
Looking to get estaimtes ASAP, but flexible on scheduling the work for sometime this year.
Removal and replacement of wooden stairs and railings to provide reduced maintenance and to maintain a similar heritage appearance.
It is anticipated that the structure will be wood ( either Cedar or Ironwood) and the railings will be high quality white aluminum handrails.
It is anticipated that the wood will be finished with an appropriate stain.
I need to change the look of kitchen(paint or make new doors),
make a new walk in closet (make shelves and drawers)
pain all walls and install baseboards.
instal new carpets.
change plus and few small electrician installation.
(that blue pain room is walk in closet , and I want instal shelves on right and left of closet)
Thank you

I moved in to a new townhouse, and there is an island that seperates my kitchen from my living room.
I would like the back portion of the island (the side that faces the living room) to be made into a wine rack, as right now, it is just wasted space.
There is about a 7inch overhang of the counter over the island

Hi,
My fiance and I recently bought a townhouse downtown and have a few odd home repair jobs we would like to source. They include the following:
Install baseboards - we are having carpet / tile ripped up and replacing it with engineered hardwood.
Cut & replace damaged doors - 2 doors were damaged by the previous tenant and need replacing.
Small framing & drywall job - There's a small corner/indent about 3x2 in the master bedroom we would like to frame and drywall so that the room is square.
Cock bathtub - a few small holes present needs a once over
Minor fix of garberator - it works but is really loud, I think the blade may be bent and is dragging.
Bathroom door slider - needs some adjustment won't close flush
Fix drywall on stair railing - pressure from people putting weight on the railing has pulled a small hole in the drywall. Will probably need to be cut and replaced with some kind of mechanism in place to distribute the load so it doesn't happen again.
Are you able to do some/all of these jobs? Approximately, how long will you take and do you have availability Sept 12 - Sept 19? What are the rates?
We're halfway through our office project, but we realized we need someone for the next step. We got a desk to get installed so it's free standing, and need someone to provide us with advice and installation on shelving for our office. The shelving is for books, so the load will be heavy, and the dimensions are fairly small (150 cm wide). Apt. is about 40 years old, so the walls are not straight.
We have an old, basic queen sized headboard we would like refurbished into something new...perhaps a cabinet using the original piece or broken down using all the pieces of it. Its 5ft long by 3 ft tall by 8inches deep, very basic looking but in the right hands could be turned into something awesome. We're open to any and all ideas. Doesn't have to be too fancy but we'd like to give it a new life since it just sits in our storage.
I'm looking for a contractor for a few projects around my home.
I have two fireplace mantels that are bigger than I'd like.
1) Living room fireplace: I want to remove the tile around the fireplace and the shelf above. I want to rebuild the mantel with drywall flush with the fireplace and a smaller shelf (of MDF). I want to add two studs in the inset (to hold a TV mount) and cover the inset with a furred out wall.
2) Family room fireplace: I want to remove the trim around the fireplace and the shelf above. Again, I want to add drywall to make the area around the fireplace flush with the fireplace. And I want to add a smaller shelf (of MDF).
Both) I then want to add similar flat trim (see photo) on both mantels. I can provide designs that show the dimensions and trim that I want.
I would also like to replace the trim around my interior doorways (around 9 of them) with flat trim.
No need for painting, as we're having those areas painted later.
Scope of work:
Demolition current staircase and dispose of rubbish.
Frame new side wall and posts
Cladding
Install hardi on wall string, outer staircase and posts
Install bug screen were necessary
Install flashing
Exterior Finishing
Install clear cedar hand rail, balusters, and string cap
Install beveled 1x4 around hardi
Install newell corners, cap and boot
Install graspable hand rail
Install risers
Install TREX stair treads
Painting:
Pre paint cedar railing materials
Paint staircase after completion
Pre paint black hardi
Misc touch ups
I’m looking for someone to do a small job of fixing the installation of baseboards during a recent restoration. There three areas of particular concern. Two areas that need the existing baseboards to be carefully removed, sanded to ensure better fit, then reinstalled, painted and caulked. The last thing that must be fixed is an unsightly joint.
It is worth noting we have very exacting standards which were not met by ProSmart.
I have a storage room inside my co-op unit which functions as my printer room, storage and general catch all. I would like to organize it by installing shelves, and get the rubber totes off the floor etc Not expecting anything fancy or gorgeous in finishes, only that it is sturdy. With the price of lumber being so high I wondered if building it from cheaper but sturdy and durable manufactured products such as MDF would work. The room is approx 4 foot wide and 8 feet deep. Ceiling is about 7 feet. Electrical supply requires the printer cabinet remain in its location on a credenza. Photos can be provided.
Hello,
We are currently looking to establish a new working relationship with a contractor/builder for specific aspects of our projects. We have a few jobs with tight deadlines and are looking to sub out portions of the project. These projects have already been estimated and approved but we have lost our carpentry sub trade.
Sub Out Items include - forming/framing, children's playhouses, benches/planter boxes, fence construction etc.
If you are interested and have some availability we are looking for rates and examples of your work.
We have an old headboard that belonged to my husband's grandmother, probably about 80 years old that we just keep in storage but i would like to find someone who may be able to help do something new with it.
We aren't looking for anything extremely fancy, just want to make the piece more functional. Please see attached photos. We had hand sanded and stained it a few years back but it can be sanded and refinished again, perhaps with a lighter colour as a few other of our furniture pieces are teak wood so a lighter wood colour.
The headboard is 5 ft long, 3 ft tall and only about 8 inches wide.
We'd like to basically turn the piece into something more functional...create a deeper cabinet unit, a couple doors on the front....we currently have a shelf unit we use as a bar so using the new piece to hold all the bar items would be great....We're up for any thoughts on the piece.
I am considering a catio which would attach to the outside of the window in my living room. When the window is open the cat could move freely outside to perch on shelves or the floor and enjoy some fresh air. Of course the catio needs to be completely screened so the cat cannot get out and/or get hurt.
I live in a co-op and the window opens via push out on the left side. The window is fairly tall and is about 4 feet off the surface of my balcony.
Hello I got an entrance door made of Knotty Alder. It has been stained and varnished in two colours front and back (came that way). Unfortunately we only like one of the colours. We need a capable wood finisher who can strip old varnish off one side, be able to get a colour match (on the side we like) and restain and varnish other side. We would prefer a true wood worker to do this work due to some intricasies on the door and would like an experienced hand to do the job.We also prefer the job to be done on site as the door already has been hung.(Yes looking back at it, we would have done things differently).
There is also side panels that is ready to be stained.
Pls. email me if you have any questions or if you would like to put in a bid.
Many thanks!
