Avoid Avoid Avoid. Staff only respectful before you make the payment. They charged me an additional $300 for 4 chairs that were packed separately to make transportation easy. They lost the chairs and took 3 months to try to find them (which they didn’t) and instead offered me $15 (did not even refund me the extra $300 they charged. Do yourself and go with a different company who would at least care about their customers.
Complete scammers. Seriously should be avoid at all cost. I had over $2000 in damages including a 60inch tv, stationary bike, work out bench and many more things. Practically every box was ruined. I filled out a damage report and they get back to me after 2 months saying they’ll only give me $30. I’m beyond mad at these incompetent workers. Seriously avoid this company.
These people treated our beloved belongings like garbage. We specifically went to U-Haul to get all of our packing materials and boxes so as to have higher quality packing supplies. But that doesn't matter when they throw your things around and stack all your fragile boxes on the bottom of a stacked pile. I've only uploaded a couple of photos but my wife and I have a while album as proof how how much they will care for other people's belongings. They ruined our queen sized mattress even though I bought and wrapped it in a heavy duty cover. It looks like they dragged it behind the truck while moving. It was torn apart and cover in oil stains. The same goes for our bed frame, which was also covered in oil and grease. For the life of me I also don't understand how they managed to break my tiller, they bent the metal frame on it. Nothing it seems was safe from their complete disregard for our belongings. Lamps broken, antique dishes shattered, a wooden chest was turned into kindling, wedding gifts pulverized, etc. The list goes on. But in the end they did offer us compensation after 6 months of back and forth emails for a total of $30 Canadian (After paying them +$11,000 and waiting for the worst pick up and drop off times). If I had to move across three provinces again I would do it myself and save my wife and I the heart break and the sleepless nights of playing "what if we hired a different company". I would never recommend these people to anyone.
Just wow!!
Jen Kirsh and her team are at it again it looks like!
I can rant and rant about how horrible this company is, but heres the quick version.
Boxes open and gone through, stuff stolen (incl personal tax documents) and multiple broken items and yes price jacked from $3500 quote to over $7400
I feel very violated and hurt at this point!
Stay far away from Atlantic Thief Lines!
If I could do zero stars, I would. This is by far the worst company I have ever encountered. I hired them to move me from my basement apartment at the end of September. I tested positive for Covid with severe symptoms that day. They claimed I could do curbside pick up, which of course I could not agree to because I cannot move my furniture on my own out of a basement while severely sick with Covid and a 3 year old child sick as well. Their other solution was to do the same Monday. My landlord refused to give me any extension so that was not an option. They have claimed they arrived and I sent them away, which they did not and I did not. They‘re forcing me to pay $950 now for nothing. no service provided at all and my only option is court. This is how this company treated a very sick single mother with a small child. I ended up having to rent a uhaul an hour away after all. I will be reporting them to the newspaper and local news as well. Absolutely disgusting.
Do not use atlantic van lines!!!
They charged me $500 to secure the move.
A couple months later I called to move my date and the customer service representative said we won't move you until we get an inventory list. They where extremely rude!
In the midst of stressed trying to get ready to move, I gave them a list of my things.
Jen revised the quote. 7780 pounds!! Outrageous! So I said this was insane for the little bit of things I had on my list. So I asked for a breakdown, never got it.
Jen Kirsch said that is the inventory standards and that is what you are obligated to pay.
I said what if my things weigh less? She said that is your minimum and that's what you pay unless you are more in pounds. The whole experience wasn't adding up!!
I then called a local company to come and give me a free estimate in my home. The estimater said there is no way your things weigh 7780lbs, she said more like 3000lbs. She said but we weigh the truck empty, load you, weigh again and that's what you are charged... the actual weight.
I'm fighting for a refund for my $500.
They are a scam!!!
Company provided us with a minimum quote , then took our 1750 $ down payment. After this they continued to ask us to redo the moving list and continued to increase price each time (even though overall weigh had decreased as we had a friend move a truck load of heavy items - washer dryer, patio furniture etc). Company refused to provide original quote / minimum payment. Before our move the cost has already increased by 1000$ even though overall weight had decreased.
Ultimately we decided to lose our deposit (which we will continue to fight for) and rent a uhaul to move our things on our own…
Only now am I reading all the horrible reviews. I wish I had done this sooner.
Oh I wish I had read these reviews before booked them.I booked them for January 2022 moving from Ontario to Manitoba.Honestly they are big liars. They respond on time because they want money. I had worse experienced, they are over priced from top to bottom. They gave you estimated and charged you scale fees. I thought they will weight but when they came they said no that’s estimated. And other than that they charged you per pound price.I mean if its estimated then how they charged for pounds and scale fees. First Jen said they will wrapped big items without cost and then they charged me for big item wrapping as well. They charged extra over priced .I asked representative, can you remove some charges like wrapping and scale fee and cost because they forgot barbecue and I removed dining table and chairs from list .she gave me explanation for not possible. Guys who came for loading asked for tip and they forced me to give tip for 3 people. I mean seriously. They don’t wear any protection on shoes and messed on all over the carpet. They said can we take this item, can we take that item?? I was very scared. My husband was away that day. Awful company.Never hire them and will check reviews for future services. I have so much to write but don’t wanna waste my more time on Atlantic van lines. Please improve your services. Delivery guys were private company (not 100%sure) They were helpful and polite.
Read the reviews. They are straight-up awful from top to bottom. There wasn't one good thing about this experience. Jen Kirsch makes everything up on the spot. They charged me 150% more than the quote. When challenged she said that it was because it weighed more than what they estimated. When I told them I weighed it myself she said she was mistaken and it was weight it was volume. They destroyed our chair and I can't even get a receipt out of them.
If anyone else would like to join me in a lawsuit against this company please reach out. Businesses cannot continue to operate and defraud people like this without repercussions.
A Company with fraud people commits financial crimes
Atlantic Van Lines is a company managed by criminals in law. They give you the preliminary estimate, and after you pay a non-refundable deposit of 500 $, they increase the weight 2-3 times, without giving you Government-certified scaling though they charge 50$ for that. I am surprised how a well-organized company working in Canada for so many years. There are hundreds of bad reviews about their activities on the website. I used the company to send my 2-bed apartment items from Montreal to Edmonton, they initially gave an estimate for 2000 lbs., 1060 $, after I paid a non-refundable $ 500, they increased the estimate to 2574 lbs.- 1364$. When I booked the item’s pickup date, they gave an estimate of 3920 lbs., 2077 $. When they have collected the items, they gave an estimate of 6725 lbs., 3918 $. They never gave me the certificate of scaling, when I asked they were silent. They took 6725 lbs. from my apartment, gave me Bill of Lading, and delivered 6125 lbs., ie. 500 lbs. less, the items for beds are lost and I cannot assemble two beds. I have all documents to prove their acts with customers. So, those who are financially suffered by the service of this company, pl. file a complaint on the Canada Government website, link https://www.consumerbeware.mgs.gov.on.ca/esearch/compform/english/complaint.jsp? I am filing a complaint, if anyone wants to share with me their info or submit a complaint I will support it.
