Nick did a great job installing two doors, trim and baseboards in my basement and stairs. Very quick clean and professional! Would highly recommend him to anyone. He also went above and beyond because of some unforeseen circumstances that appeared during the job!
Reliable and professional, Nick provided valuable input and expertise while renovating our home. Regarding quotes and job completion, his work is timely and on point. Very much working with us as a partner on our project, his insight and confidence was comforting. Detail oriented and on budget, his work is exemplary and his attitude is focused on customer satisfaction. I highly recommend this personable and talented young man.
Nick from Blackwood carpentry built 9 custom closets for our infill home in Edmonton. He pre-cut all the materials off site and then installed everything over a few hours on a Saturday. Extremely professional and kept the areas he worked in clean. We absolutely love the closets, they were exactly what we wanted. Highly recommend Nick for any of your carpentry needs.
Blackwood Carpentry was professional clean and willing to change the plans on the fly as the circumstances changed due to the challenges faced trying to upgrade an older home. He was always on time and very courteous.
At no time was I unhappy with the work performed. Blackwood Carpentry also reimbursed me without asking when the estimate for materials was lower than expected.
I have had two jobs completed by Blackwood Carpentry and I have already booked for a third job.
Overall my own personal experience with Blackwood Carpentry has been extremely positive.
Beware Blackwood carpentry and design extremly unprofessional, poor workmanship, rude, agressive, messy, disrespectful and a thief. I have proof in messages pictures and statements from my plumber and a new contractor who witnessed and had to redo Nicks aweful mess in my home.
Nick demoed my kitchen 2 weeks before anyone did any work on it. I was without a stove and a sink for 7 weeks.
Nick would come in for a few hours a day having a few long weekends and the week before he was let go he came in an hour a day to pour self levelling cement in basement bathroom when there was 40 packages of backsplash that I had already paid for install sitting in my living room for weeks as he walked by that paid for job and only spent a couple hours at my home that was started by him first week of October paid him approx $15,000 and jobs still not complete 9 weeks later.
One of his last jobs at my house was installing wood panels on my walls. When I came home I looked at his work was terrible huge gaps at my ceiling and around my door trim should've left gaps at floor and removed trim to make perfect cut/fit. I talked to him about it he told me it was fine it's wasn't I had contractor come look at it and his words were to have it removed and redone. He ruined 5 panels at $50 a panel and $450 to instal. I will attach pics of this terrible poor workmanship. I had given Nick my Lowes receipt to pick up the remaining Panels as I was in CWB school. When he was let go I asked him to leave my Lowes receipt and to not take any of my materials as I trusted him to go into my home when I was in class. When I had got home from school I noticed my barn door that was still in its wrapping was gone so I messaged him straight away and said I would have him charged with thieft if he didn't return so he had his wife drop it off within an hour. I went to
Lowes to check on my panel with my receipt and the young girl at customer services said that I had nothing on order so I asked her to do a query when she looked she seen that money was put back onto my credit card then she also realized she was the one that did it and remembered my carpenter Nick whom she said she hopes she never sees him again because he was so loud and rude and angry. Nick tried his hardest to get a cash refund on my receipt telling her that he really needed the money not on credit card in cash but young girl said she's only permitted to return to what he had her believe was his card and when this was done my order was cancelled. Bottom line nick tried to take my receipt and cash it in.
Nick and his wife picked up my countertops when they got to my home and placed them in one was damaged. After some discussions nick said it had to be from manufacture but when nick signed for them he was signing for his inspection of no defects or damage. I
Told nick he was responsibile and he would need to pay for tye replacement which was $180. Not much money when I had paid him $15,000 in 8 weeks but nick became extremely angry at me over this he took countertop to return to manufacture and he told me that if he wasn't at work next day it's because he might get locked up at the manufature with countertop. This showed me agression and scared me. The next day nick didn't come to work I called him said I'd pay for countertop to calm him down but rightfully he was responsible and all what he made from me. After nick wasn't working for me anymore I had to go get my countertop and the lady that dealt with him there was disgusted in how Nick was angry and loud at her.
When the new contractor did measurements of my cabinets he noticed nick installed my cabinets not to code they are shorter then they should be so I won't be able to place certain appliances on my counter.
We were referred to this company by a friend and it was the best decision we made. Nick was our contractor and he showed up when he said he would and worked steady until the job was done. We liked that he didn't rush through the work, wasn't sloppy and he didn't leave a mess. Yes, he cleaned up too!! My husband and I are very happy with the work that was done and it was great to have a friendly contractor. Thank you Blackwood Carpentry for your hard work; two thumbs up from our family.
Thank you very much! It was a pleasure working for you. If you need anything in the future please don't hesitate to contact me.
Nick did a great job on the construction of my cedar planters. Quality of workmanship is evident; they turned out great! He was very reliable and stuck to his timelines. I was always kept updated of the progress.
We needed to cover a hole where I have peonies growing. Found out I have peonies that attract ants. The size of the hole was 2 feet x 8.67 feet. I wanted someone to build me a box to cover that hole so the peonies would die. Also, it will be used for flowers/vegetables. Nick came up with the idea to build me 3 cedar boxes to cover the hole. I liked his idea and he built them for me. I love what he has created for my deck.
Thank you for helping me.
Thank you Jacky. It was a pleasure working with you.
