I would strongly recommend this company. We have hardwood in all rooms upstairs except Kitchen and was debating to get them redone, or carpet. John told us the floors would look good and they do. Better than we hoped. Price was reasonable and the work was done ahead of schedule.
We called Eco Forest Flooring because our old hardwood floors were in bad shape. We were debating whether to have it replaced all together, but John advised us to get it refinished instead saying it will turn out beautifully. He was friendly and informative and had the gift of patience to answer our many questions. John was right, the end result is as beautifu as he had said, every grain in the wood stands out to be counted.
Thank you John and crew at Eco Forest Flooring.
The work was completed on time and on budget. I contacted John to have him look at the floors about a week after completion as I am concerned about many visible "lines" in the finish. He inspected the floors and assured me those marks were excess varnish and would disappear given the full time to cure, 30-60 days. John also offered to come and fix a couple scratches we incurred with moving furniture back in, so I'm waiting to see if the lines disappear soon for those other small repairs. I'm remaining positive for now but will reserve judgement depending on the outcome of those problem areas.
Yes for some clients the smell lasts for weeks however my feedback is that 99% of clients say the smell goes away in a few days. Which I mention on the every estimate. Also on every estimate I've ever done I always explain how everyone has a different level of sensitivity and telling them that my feed back is the best I can do. I've never ever said to anyone that yes smell is gone in a few days.
That's also why I offered Sharon and everyone I visit that if sensitive to smell then to go with water-base. Over the years I've even had the odd complaint about water-base. It's just we're all different as people. Plus the exact finish I use is in great detail on the estimate giving a chance to do further research.
Sharon had weeks to decide and then decided to go with oil base knowing that I told her that I could only tell her what my feedback is on the smell. Which is that 99% of clients say smell is gone after a few days.
After weeks of finishing Sharon's floor I get a call about some concerns she had with the floor. I'm a big believer in making all clients happy so almost immediately I went down to her house to have a look.
When I arrived she had little paper tent marks everywhere on the floor. So then her and I started looking at each one and asked her to point out the issue. And one after another she couldn't find them. Her excuse was she could see it in a certain light. But her and I together looked at every angle and couldn't find anything. Then one after another she agreed there was nothing. Also keep in mind this was a sunny bright day. If there were flaws then we'd able to see them for sure.
So it ended up being two or three very very minor applicator marks that are barely visible and normally accepted. I asked her why she waited so long to tell me. She said one of her friends came down and picked her floor apart. She said she hadn't even noticed them until her friend pointed them out.
Anyone can go to someone's home and pick stuff apart. Any decent person knows that floors have to looked as a whole. Specially decades old flooring. It's amazing what we can do with them.
At the end of the day any business that deals with hundreds and hundreds of clients will have the odd person that does this. I've been doing this for almost 20 years and have made thousands of clients super happy. :) To bad internet wasn't around then. I can't imagine how many more great reviews I would have.
Also if you think about it that every client that isn't happy will post negative comments. But I'd say maybe only 15% of happy clients post a review. I have a great reputation and will always do whatever I can do make clients happy. Naturally us as people including myself don't always give feedback on greatness. Whether it's a restaurant, doctor, service, house work, etc.
At the end of the day I will still do whatever I can do make her happy. Granted it can't always be done. Most companies likely wouldn't even go back.
I'm even going back for a free complimentary visit to fix scratches that happened during her moving furniture.
I love being happy and clients happiness is way important than mine.
I like how they helped us move some hard to move furniture in our home, They were very prompt with their work and made our floors like new again. They stand by there work and were able to fix any minor problems we had with the small issues on our base boards.
The only thing I didn't like, I have to say was cleaning up the mess on the walls and everywhere in the house from the sanding dust.
