Jane and Dennis were true professionals. Services provided were completed as quoted, services completed and the price. Jane and Dennis set a schedule and met it completely, at the start of the day and to the end of the project. Jane and Dennis respected that they were working in our home and respected our property and their work space by keeping in clean during the work and when they were finished at the end of the day as well as at the end of the project.

Jane and Dennis were easy to deal with. They were on time and on budget and the quality was great. The reviews online here were invaluable because they were accurate. We would not hesitate to refer them to friends or family.

We needed to fix a big hole in our living room ceiling that had been left from previous plumbing problems. Jane and Denis were great to deal with. They answered all of our questions and clearly communicated about the work they were going to do. The job was completed on time and they did not quit until we were completely satisfied with the results. The ceiling looks great and we're really happy with the work they did.

The job was a full basement build, starting from zero. Dennis and Jane where absolutely great to work with. They were punctual, knowledgeable, competent and kept the work space looking nice and tidy every day. You can really tell that they are proud of their work. They took the time to understand our plan, made great suggestions and executed it to perfection. They also put us in touch with great plumbers and electrician and coordinated everyone so we didn't have to worry about a thing! They price was very reasonable too. I would definitely recommend them to anyone doing a reno. It restored my impression of contractors after a few bad experiences!

My wife and I were new to hiring contractors for work on our house. Hence we were a bit cautious. We have heard horror stories from friends and family on contractor work. We shopped around and found some decent deals and then we called Emerald for a quote. From the start, Jane was very professional and friendly. Jane and Denis came by our place for a look and to provide a quote. It was the most affordable quote we received and they were so pleasant to deal with our choice was easy. Jane was very honest that our job was second in line to a priority job they had accepted previously. The honesty was appreciated. As it turned out, Jane, Denis and their son were able to come in and do the work prior to xmas. That was a pleasant surprise. The quality was very good in my opinion. My wife and I were very pleased.

No horror story here...quite the opposite. I think we lucked out by finding and hiring Emerald. Again, quality work at an affordable price and they were very pleasant to deal with (no runarounds). Explained details of what they were doing, drafted a clean contract, were very experienced in doing this kind of work.

We really appreciate Jane, Dennis, and their son's work! They renovated our basement last summer and we got compliments from family and friends. Our daughters just love the new space! We had open communication throughout the process and our concerns and desires were heard. They cleaned up after each day's work, stayed within our budget, and they were very nice to deal with. They had to come back a couple of times to work on minor things and they were true to their word. They gave me an extra closet/closet space in the basement (we just had to buy the door and they installed it free of charge) and finished the ceiling of another closet in the basement even though they were not part of our original agreement! They also referred us to a flooring company who's done a great job at installing our basement carpet. I certainly know who to call in the future for minor projects. I will recommend this family's business to others and to anyone who is using the Handy Canadian website for their projects at home!

Emerald Drywall and Renovations is a great company to deal with. They came onto our project last minute and were able to deliver high quality with a short timeline. If you need the job done right and on time hire this company, you won't be disappointed.

I first met Jane and Dennis through this website when we were renovating an apartment condo. We needed help to remove the old and replace the kitchen backsplash. It was a small job but Dennis and Jane still gave it the attention that we needed. They gave a fair price and completed the job as promised. They were always on time (even though I was sometimes late!) , courteous at all times and very honorable. I could tell that they both take pride in their work. I would not hesitate to recommend them (I already have before writing this review) to anyone that I know. I hope that I can again work with them in the future. It would be an honour for me. Great work! I had a nice experience having my small renovation project done by Dennis and his crew. You will not go wrong by chosing Emerald Drywall & Renovations for your project.

I first came into contact with Emerald Drywall by way of this site, in looking for someone to re-drywall our basement. We had really ruined what was already there while removing some old wallpaper, that turned out to be a nightmare.

I got into touch with Jane and Dennis of Emerald Drywall, who were immediately able to come out to the house. It was a small job as acknowledged but they assured me they would easily be able to mud over the mess we had made. In conversation, we also got to talking about a troublesome shower installation in our upstairs bathroom from some careless previous owners.

Upon agreeing to also inspect, Jane and Dennis were able to confirm my worst fear; severe mold buildup behind the tiles, topped off by a lack of the proper materials and a hideous grouting job to boot. Jane and Dennis were able to give a very reasonable quote within a few days and were extremely accommodating in when they could start their work.

Being that this was our only shower in the house, Jane and Dennis readily agreed to start and finish the job, while my wife and I were away on vacation. We came back to a lovely surprise.

Not only was the work completed beautifully and on time, but it's very important to note all of the extras they threw in for us, beyond what our contract entailed. Not only did they rip up, replace, and dispose of all materials. They exceeded our expectations, by doing two extra toilet installations, giving advice on a few other house problems, and Dennis was even so kind as to fix our front door and trim around it, simply because he felt it needed to be done. (which it did)

They were polite, courteous, conversational, pleasant, helpful and I'm not afraid to say that I would recommend Emerald Drywall to my friends, clients and family.

Thank you, Jane and Dennis for helping us in so many ways, and for doing it so that we could afford it, in a timely convenient manner and with such attention to quality and detail. We have been enjoying our new basement and bathroom ever since and we will remember you both very fondly, not only for your great work but for what pleasant individuals you both were to deal with.

In a crazy market, where everyone was just after taking as much money out of it as they could, Emerald Drywall was more then fair on their pricing. They did a small ceiling repair in a new house that everyone else said could not be done without huge expense. They took the challenge and exceeded expectations. They got the job done quickly. Everyone nowadays claims to operate with honesty and integrity and it is not the case; for Emerald Drywall they all work with these values in tact. I will use Jane and Dennis in the future and will continue to refer them to anyone I know who needs somebody who can get the job done. It was a absolute pleasure dealing with them.

Emerald Drywall was excellent. Its one of the few companies left that are willing to do small projects without being charged an excessive amount (no money was due until materials were on site and final payments were not made until I was satisfied with a COMPLETE project). They were professional, upfront, honest, on time and worked with integrity. My wife and I are very pleased with the quality of work that was put into our project and appreciated the pride each person had in their profession. The company is a family run business and it was nice to meet the people you would be dealing with on site and off. No subcontractors were used, just the owners and family members who are licensed and have over 25 years experience. Thanks again Denis and Jane for a job well done!!

Jane and Dennis really rescued us from a horrid experience with another contractor. They were two days ahead of schedule on our first job of insulating and Vapour barrier 5 walls, drywall 9 walls, painting all the rooms, skim coating ceilings and then knock down texture. The work was good. They were really friendly and straightforward. They stuck to the budget.

Our second phase of bathroom gut and reno was above our expectations.

We came home from a vacation to a fantastic new bathroom. They took pictures so we could see the work. They found the perfect flooring for the bathroom. The tile job is awesome considering the age of our condo and the fact that no wall is anywhere near straight.

The final phase that we have hired them for is all the finishing work: doors, trim, window casings. What a shock to come home to such an awesome upstairs. It is just so perfect. It was waay beyond our vision. We look forward to the main floor being finished.

Dealing with them has far surpassed our expectations.

We feel very confident in recommending them, our only regret is that we didn't find them at the very start of our project in February.

Denis, Michael, Norma and Jane were absolutely top-notch in every aspect of our dealings with them. They showed up when they said they would, they stuck to their budget, they did fantastic, quality work, they were extremely easy to get along with and were responsive to our every need and request. We would, without hesitation, use them again for our future jobs!!

Upon posting project had several replies only Emerald came to do estimate and in doing so will use them for future bathroom reno (a very complex one as well)
