There are many critical incidents that will occur in a person’s lifetime, but one of the memorable moments for us was to wake up in the morning to find the basement of our home filling up with rising ground water. It is tough to find contractors in Prince George willing to take on jobs of this magnitude in repairing aging foundations. Heritage Homes responded quickly to our calls for assistance. Dave and his Crew are “skilled artisans†– efficient and thorough in completing their tasks. An added bonus is the Crew’s friendly, caring, and upbeat manner in their interactions with everyone. Make no mistake. We have found our contractor for life – Heritage Homes.

Having never hired a contractor before I am so pleased that we hired the right one.
This spring we noticed a wall in our basement looked to be leaning and knew we were in trouble. With an older home with a cinder-block foundation we were at a loss as to what to do. We did the most logical thing we could think of, we Goggled foundation repair in PG and we found Dave. What a blessing for us as Google can sometimes be hit and miss.
We started out planning the repair of the crumbling wall and sealing the existing walls around the house. We were soon faced with the reality that the existing wall was not in as good a condition as we had hoped. We were now faced with a very huge decision, to lift the house, demolish the existing foundation and pour an entirely new foundation for the house. Dave was wonderful in guiding us through all that would be done.
This was no small job but Dave was wonderful lining up the house lifter right away and having everything working like clockwork. We were not expecting this extent of construction but Dave managed to allow us to live in the house while it was lifted and the new foundation poured under it.
We are now at the end of it all and are in awe of how seamless the operation was. Dave was always available to answer question no matter how small they were. His crew were friendly and near the end they all felt like part of the family.
Dave shared with us our vision of what we wanted and that was not a house but a home and thanks to his hard work and honesty we feel very lucky to call him our contractor.
If you need a contractor for anything, big or small I would not hesitate for one moment in recommending Dave and Heritage Homes.

We were very happy that Dave accepted our little bathroom fan installation project after we learned that he built a beautiful home in the Okanagan! Not only that, he installed the fan in a tight area, and did the job the day we took possession of our house. This was done on a Saturday, and we know he is a family man too. The fan was installed neatly and squarely, and the vent fastened outside in the same way.
We explained how we also wanted the built-in microwave removed from above the stove, with a range hood installed, venting to the outside. Dave's timeline meant waiting approx 2 weeks, so to my surprise about 4-5 days later, I came home and the job was done! One of his employees (Joe) completed the work, and I was pleased to see how Joe got through the stucco neatly, and also how he avoided cutting thru a stud by routing the venting around it.
Lastly, we have such confidence in Dave's work, and in his employees, that we used the electrician he recommended to us, to correct reverse polarities and open grounds, etc. We are planning on using Dave's help for further issues. His buddy Buckley is always welcome (black lab :).

We were extremely pleased with the quality of Dave’s workmanship and work ethic. We had to change our original plans after the job was started due to some technical issues & Dave provided us options for the new plans. He was able to move forward each day keeping our project on schedule regardless of the other trade delays or the very cold weather. Dave completed his portion of the project on budget. We found Dave very personable, honest and would have no problem recommending him for home construction projects.

I had the pleasure of having Dave and his crew retrofitting 7 windows and a door into my 30 year old condo. Nothing was even, straight or centred...Dave has everything fitting like it is a brand new home...straight and level. His attention to detail and keeping the work site clean/safe has been top notch...

Our Process
"Design Phase"
The construction process begins at the design phase. Whether you start with nearly completed blueprints or simply a great idea, this phase results in a workable plan for your new home, or renovation; Here is what occurs:
You create a list of what you need and want in your home. Photos, floor plans, books and magazines are a great place to start. Or, use our design preferences form to get started.
A site visit establishes site constraints, house location and orientation.
Preliminary sketches and layouts are presented for your review and to discuss revisions.
Approved sketches are then drafted and a preliminary cost estimate is provided.
A firm quote is provided for your home construction.
The detailed contract and approximate completion date are agreed upon.
"Selection Phase"
The selection phase is an ongoing task throughout the construction process, and determines the aesthetic appeal of your home. During this process you can expect:
Selection of the materials and colours for the exterior finishes.
Our interior designer assists in your selection of paint colour, flooring, lighting fixtures, plumbing fixtures, trim, moulding, countertops, etc.
Our interior designer is also available to assist in choosing furnishings and window treatments to complete your home.
Cabinetry is designed and constructed specifically for your new home.
"Construction Phase"
Construction is often simultaneous with the selection phase and is closely managed by our professional team. Once construction has begun, you are given the opportunity to see the progress at safe, scheduled construction inspections. These inspections include:
Framing completion inspection, at this time the electrical layout is also confirmed with you.
Drywall completion inspection, when built-ins, closet layouts and finishing details are finalized.
Finishing carpentry inspection, before painting and other finishing of your new home.
Prepossession inspection, approximately two weeks before possession. Note outstanding items and any necessary changes.
Final inspection, addresses any final corrections, completion of outstanding paperwork, and delivery of your certificate of possession and the keys to your new home.
