Thanks
Hi Angie,
Are you positive it is stucco? Do you mean Stiple (textured)? that would be quite unusual is they stucco'd your ceiling. Once we have that figured out i would love to help you with that.

Hi Angie,
Assuming the ceiling is "stipple" on drywall, the best way to tackle your repair is to replace the drywall and mud seams flat. Then scrape of stipple at least 12" around the repair area by wetting and using a 6" putty knife. Once dry spray with a Kilz stain blocker alkyd then have the texture re-sprayed to match.

Save your self a lot of work, and headaches. Call a drywall contractor in your area. Sounds like its a small job for someone that does it everyday. But a big job for someone who doesnt, and will never look properly
unless you hire a pro. If your selling, and you do it your self it will look like a patch job.
Best way to fix this problem is to repair the damaged area, prime with stain block primer, spray the area with a rough texture, let it dry, then spray the whole ceiling. Anything less will look like a cover up.
