I am truly thankful for Dean Mizzi and Associates. We did our ensuite bathroom first and ended up doing our second floor main bathroom also with Dean. Both bathrooms turned out looking elegant, stunning magazine worthy. I had an idea of what I wanted and Dean turned my ideas into reality. I would most definitely call Dean for any other projects.

Dean and Associates are not only professionals at what they do but also reliable, dependable, attentive, courteous and they truly pay attention to detail. The workers showed up on time, worked hard, cleaned up at the end of each day. Both projects were completed on time.

We selected J.D. Mizzi for the 3 reno projects that we had in our new house. Dean and his crew did an absolute phenomenal job with all 3.

Our introduction to JD Mizzi and Associates took place at the Whitby home show in the spring. Dean's booth showcased some of his past landscape projects and we could tell that he had a similar design taste. We scheduled a follow up meeting to discuss our backyard landscape project scope and establish a budget. At that point we had a pretty good feeling about Dean. Dean returned with a proposal that was precisely what we were looking for and provided a ballpark quote for additional requests such as irrigation, lighting and natural gas hookup. At this point we felt Dean was not only trustworthy but that he truly had a passion and vision for his work, so we ‘handed him the keys’.

The project, although challenged by weather conditions, was completed in a timely manner and the job site was always left tidy at the end of each day.

Dean and his crew were courteous and professional and exceeded our expectations. They turned a boring empty space into a beautiful retreat; we’ve spent more time in our backyard in these past couple months than we did in the previous 10 years. We absolutely love it and can’t thank you enough.

Dean and his team did an amazing job with our basement renovation. We had already constructed a floor plan for it but with Dean's added touch and a few changes it turned out beautifully. Despite the Christmas holidays, wintery weather and unforeseen construction set backs it was still completed in a decent amount of time. Dean always kept us in the loop with any required changes and his team was very accommodating to our needs. I highly recommend their services!

J. D. Mizzi and Associates is a great company, and we were very happy to hire them to do our landscaping project which consisted of lowering our backyard (the swale was ridiculous), adding a patio, doing a soldier course for our driveway, and completely re-doing our front steps and walkway and covering our porch.

The workers were very friendly and truly listened to what we said. When we asked questions, we did not feel as though we were being condescended to as some contractors can make you feel. The workers understood that landscaping is not our area of expertise (if it were, we would do it ourselves!).

As a shift worker often sleeping during the day, the workers were generally considerate of noise (where possible) and did not play music that was overtly loud. They did their best to ask questions at times when I was available. The work was very precise and we were never nervous about the outcome as we have been with contractors in the past. We were always confident that our project would look fabulous.

While e-mail communication could sometimes be a little slow, if we called the project manager, Dean, at any time, he was either immediately available, or called us back shortly. He was present on-site at least once a day and consulted us at regular intervals. When we needed something added on or changed, he was happy to comply or to explain if it either couldn't be done, or present an acceptable alternative.

Our family and neighbours have had nothing but compliments for our landscaping project and I can't wait until Spring to plant my garden!

Dean and his crew did a great job with our backyard project , He told us he would be in and out in one week and he was true to his word. The job was even started ahead of schedule which of course we were,very pleased with, Dean and his crew were professional, courteous, and hard working. The backyard went from horrible to transformed Thanks to Dean's vision. We would highly recommend Dean as he came in a little over budget as we had to do a slight modification which Dean explained clearly before proceeding.

J.D. Mizzi developed the best plan for our backyard and front yard based on discussions with five contractors. Dean and his crew had to deal with some unexpected items and handled them without complaint and provided great solutions. They also allowed us to change certain design items as we went which was greatly appreciated. Dean always kept me apprised of any cost increases and gave me a choice. Two areas that most impressed us was his eye for design; and the use of a cement underlay under the driveway pavers. The latter was a brilliant idea that gave us the best of both worlds, a solid drive way that will never rut or sink while having the paver look. There were two other projects done in our neighborhood at the same time and I must say that Dean's work was the best. If we had more projects we would hire Dean and his crew again.

I had J.D.Mizzi do a complete backyard landscape project that turned a bare new construction yard into a beautiful outdoor living space using large armourstone,river rock borders,garden walls ,fieldstone pavers and amazing artificial grass for a low maintenance comfortable attractive yard worthy of a landscape brochure. I was so pleased with the results the following year I had them do the complete front yard that was a major project.The front yard included a multilevel entrance with patios and extensive plantings and paver edged paved driveway.What you don't see is the most important part as Dean and his crew engineered the drainage and grading with substantial work done on the base supporting all the construction.A picture would not do it justice,you will have to see it in person to appreciate the quality of materials and workmanship.Dean took my ideas and vision and turned it into a reality with his knowledge of construction and artistic flare.Dean is not cheap,but he did what he said he would on time,on budget and still looks as good today as it did when he did the work 3 and 4 years ago.I would recommend J.D.Mizzi and associates for any landscape project,and would use them again .

Dean was the only contractor we had invited in who listened to what we were looking for and came up with not just a written plan and vision of what he was proposing based upon our input, but also provided options and scale of what it would cost if we included or took away certain features. His team were on time, friendly and very tidy particularly in their end of day clean up. We were putting in a hot tub as part of a garden feature and Dean worked with the hot tub installer to ensure that they kept to the same time line. The the installation went smoothly and without a hitch . When it came to picking plants, he provided ideas and was knowledgeable on what plants would work and what would not given the enviroment they were going to grow in. He also us to the gardening centre and provided recommendations on what would work within the budget we had set. All in all as with the great job he did on our basement a couple of years earlier it was a pleasant and stress free experience.

Dean and his team did a wonderful job on our home. We had the basement finished, bathroom, family room and kitchen work done. The team was professional, careful and considerate of the fact they where in someone else's home. Quality was second to none. I would definitely hire them again and wouldn't hesitate in recommending them as a contractor of choice.
