Norm was quick to call back, do a site visit & get to work. Very friendly BUT : the oversize dumptruck couldn’t navigate my alley so Day 1 was only 2 hours long...
Biggest Problem: my 13x10 crib was made 12x9’7” even though I had placed a string line to show exact placement & dimensions. ( I should stop the review here)
He bent my clothesline pole. Left it behind. Said he would replace it, but didn’t.
Didn’t dig around rootball and broke apple tree’s tap root.
Buried and then broke a stack of 15 pavers
Knicked my garage with the bucket- no apology.
Put A bucket of dirt and a rock 8” diameter into crib which was to be only gravel crush.
Broke an old growth vine by dumping it rather than waiting for a cleared spot to place the pole.
Ordered and left too much gravel despite my requests to use materials on site (in buckets just 15’ away!)
Placed crib square to a garage 20’ away rather than next to property line as repeatedly asked.
Took hours of arguing to get what I wanted.
When I pointed out my concerns, he bullied me Saying just let us do the job. You’re not listening & you don’t get it. Meanwhile my 7 year old child saying, , but Mom, you’re paying him, he should do what you want!
Started on a Fri, came back on Tues,, said he hoped to be done on Wed. no show on Wed... On Thursday Built crib the wrong size, harrassed & threatened me repeatedly on Friday.
In response to my criticisms, he said “It’ll cost you to fix it” & that he would not remove his excavator until paid in full & he’ll see me in court.
When I offered to send more $ to cover materials and boys labour so far, re refused to show the bill.
He took several items I paid for & have receipt for. (Large box of nailS, level, square etc.. strange he didn’t have his own!)
He spent a large amount of time on site on the phone negotiating other deals & family matters Instead of supervising work being done.
First few hours on the job he said he bought the excavator 2 years ago & still isn’t very good.
Left us with no secure path to get to garbage/alley For TWO weekends.
No wonder he was available!
