Paul is a great guy with good people working for him. He started the project early and finished within the timeline we agreed upon.
I do wish he had been a little more upfront when quoting me originally for the project. (Part of that is my mistake for not being as thorough in the reading of the quote as I should have been). To be precise, while the project was ongoing, I was asked to go out and get a 5lb bag of grout and floor transitions. Not the biggest deal, but it seemed a little strange given the scope of the project that small items like that weren't included.
Of note, his communication bordered on just okay because he is so busy. Some days he was easy to reach and speak with, other times he could go days without answering an email. I am still awaiting a quote on putting up the kitchen back splash and have asked for it 3 times now.
Other than that he does great work, is very knowledgeable, carries the proper insurance, smart, knows the building codes very well, does things correctly, polite, etc.
Paul's Contracting is one of the very best contractors I have had in my life time. They arrived completed this job be it very small as to most renovations but these two men came with their tools, drop cloths etc. and completed the job in most timely manor. They left my home total clean of any dust or debris. I would use this company again for all my construction needs.
This was a challenging project that required an exceptional contractor who understood the difficulties and was focused on details. Paul was innovative, communicated progress daily, and his team exceeded my expectations in all aspects of the work.
I am afraid my experience of Paul and the people he sent along, is somewhat different from what I have just read on your website. I am attaching photographs of some the workmanship, so that your readers can form their own opinion as to value for money (around $15,000). The work took a lot longer than was agreed upon; some of the people that he sent, seemed to be of school-age and have no idea how to, for example cut material and install baseboards or ceilings. I have asked Paul on two occasions by email to come back and redo the work which we are extremely unhappy with and he has not responded.
I am disappointed in Paul's responses to photographic evidence of what his incompetent team have done. I reject what he has said and would invite your readers to conclude that the photographs of his workmanship speak for themselves. Perhaps also before choosing Paul's contracting, they should decide whether they wish to deal with someone who provides a response such as this, to a legitimate complaint, once it is aired on the website, yet refuses to reply to written requests by email to rectify the mess that his staff have caused. Next step: Small Claims Court .
This 3 bathroom, staff kitchenette, and office renovation project began Jan 2014, finishing as agreed ahead of schedule after several change orders. A final walk-through was completed agreeably. Client requested all builder grade materials and divided the work with his own staff member whom directed decisions based on budget on how and what we should and shouldn't do in client's absence. This 70+ year old building had been renovated numerous times over the years, and at one point and our own expense scheduled a structural site visit with an engineer.
Pre-existing conditions or damage or poor workmanship by others, the re-use of old building materials, damages caused by client use, neglect, or completing their own work or changes to our work are not covered by warranty.
We are a licensed and insured company whose staff are all WSIB insured.

I was very pleased with the work that was done. Paul and his team arrived at the time that was arranged. Paul listened to what work was to be done and offered different ways of accomplishing it. He provided good input for the products to be used as well as offering cost saving options. The work site was completely cleaned up afterwards. I was especially impressed that Paul employed a female worker allowing her to work away but also took the time to explained how aspects of the job were done so she could learn as well. I was very impressed by his approach.
I would definitely hire Paul's Contracting again.
Discovered a small hole in exterior wall next to eaves trough. Was not sure if water was getting into wall cavity,so I called Paul and arranged a date for him to come over. When he looked at the issue, he did not believe there was a problem. For the home owners peace of mind, he accessed the area from inside the home and found no water had been entering the wall cavity. He made the necessary repairs, which were well done. I found Paul to be professional and his communication skills were excellent explaining what needed to be done while providing options.
Paul and his talented crew added great value to our home this summer, renovating the open area in our basement and transforming this into a laundry area and finished three piece bathroom and a much needed closet! I was not able to be present for any of the on site work each day, but trusted Paul with all the details as he would send pictures of progress made and make timely inquiries for questions he had as the renovations and construction progressed. I was so pleased with this renovation that Paul is beginning a second renovation this fall on our main bathroom in the house. I am very excited about the outcome of this, knowing the quality of workmanship that has been shown to me already!
We were very pleased with the quality of work from Paul and his crew. His foreman chris was awesome. He was super professional and included us in everything. Paul came everyday to check progress and see if there were any concerns. We highly recommend Pauls contracting to anyone wanting to reno for a good price.
Paul and his team did a professional and timely renovation to our home, adding a three piece bathroom in our basement and relocating the laundry area. I appreciated Paul's updates with pictures and questions as the project went along helped me a lot, as I was not able to be present during the renovations. I would highly recommend Paul's Contracting to others as an integral and honest company that provide many different expertise!
