Agree with all previous reviews. Very difficult company to deal with. Didn't plow on time. Called company, told by Chantelle that 2 of trucks were down so they were having difficulty with snowplowing all the homes. Contact your customers if you are having problems, don't make all of your customers contact you. Then show up and finish the job that you were paid to do. NOT RECOMMENDED.
Hi Andrea,
I have to admit I am completely shocked to see your review pop up today!
While we encourage all of our customers to certainly let us know about their experiences with us (either negative or positive) we find yours to be confusing. First of all, You had a conversation with me once in regards to the two trucks being down (that was a January storm and that is where 100% of our poor reviews have come from (if you look at dates .... we missed a few customers and are aware of the issues it caused but did try our best to turn anyone's poor experience into a better one)
Today Saturday March 7th 2020 the owner of the company came to your house around 1030 am to pick up the final payment on your contract. You gave him the money and did not say one word, instead cowardly you posted on trusted pros. You could have had this conversation with him in person and he would have done whatever he could have to help you. We are sorry that you had a bad experience and that you felt we were difficult to deal with, I know personally I had a difficult time reaching you, I called and you pretended not to be "Andrea" when I asked for you- even though we had spoken through texts. Regardless we apologize for any issues we had and wish you all the best in the future.
I paid $100 deposit for snow removal which was to include cleaning my car,(noted in the contract). They came on November14th in the evening- the snow began November 12 so I had to have neighbours help me to get out prior to their arrival. I called frequently after rt hat so that I could ascertain future reliability. No one ever responded to my calls--ever. At one point I received a cold call from them hoping enlist me as a customer. I again called them and told them they already had me but I no longer felt they're reliable and was shocked that they were still seeking business as they obviously were not timely for current customers.
I heard nothing from them and then on January19 in the afternoon My neighbour cleared my windrow and driveway for me-that was a lot of snow. I left my path to my house still with snow. The next day it had not been touched so--no show
Feb. 2they said they came but I dug myself out in the morning. The next day they called forth remainder o f t he money which I refuse to pay asI received no service. They have threatened me with blacklisting me and a linen my house. I am considering legal action because of the threats.
Hi Edwina,
Thank you so much for your review. While we certainly encourage our customers to post either positive or negative experiences with us we find this to be very confusing.
Our contracts state clearly that we respond within 12 hours of the snow accumulation and state that during larger storms it can take more time (which the storm in November was quite a large amount of snow. We apologize that your neighbors had to help you before we arrived. Your daughter clearly outlines that we in fact have never showed, which has now turned out to be a false accusation.
We also do not complete any cold calls once the season starts which is November 1st, so I am not sure who else called you but I have confirmed it was not us.
The storm in january was a huge issue for us, and there were a handful of customers that were not serviced at all or not servivced fully. The owner is aware and we tried to identify those people and rectify it going forward.
We had a storm February 6th and a clean up done February 7th, at which point we did have trucks out on the road and everyone was serviced. I have confirmed with many customers and made sure our times matched up with our GPS soft ware. Anyone who required extra services was well looked after on the 7th. (and yes we do have customers that can attest to it!)
A phone call was placed to all our customers on February 8th and 9th requesting anyone with an outstanding balance to make another payment. These payments should have been collected in January but due to the lack of snow the owner felt he should wait another month to start collecting.
We apologize that your services were not completed to your satisfaction, but are unable to help anyone that doesnt reach out to us. All of our vehicles have GPS locators in it and have supplied many people with the information so we know it is accurate and works. But if you dont let us know right away that there is an issue we of course can NOT help you or have it fixed in a timely manner. Telling us you wont pay because you had bad service but never told us only makes it look like there is an issue with paying the rest of the contract.
While we understand that working in the customer service industry we are well aware that we can not make everyone happy. However the owner has spoken to a handful of people and has offered a way to make things right as customer satisfaction really is important to him, waiting for us to call to ask for more money (you paid 100$ towards a $400 contract 4 months ago) and then explaining the issues really hasnt given anyone an opportunity to make anything right, so instead you and your daughter take to the internet in hopes of ruining a company's name and taking someones lively hood away. I guarantee that the handful of angry spiteful people will most definitely not be outweighed by our loyal and trustworthy customers.
Should you wish to fix our working relationship we most certainly can talk about working it out and see what we can do going forward, but that would mean instead of broadcasting on facebook or trusted pros you would have to call the number listed on your contract.
We wish you all the best with whatever choice you do make.
Kind regards,
Rhinocon
SAME PROBLEM AS ALL THE OTHER reviewers. my wheelchair husband
was unable to get to hospital for appointment as care a van needed cleared driveway.
I phoned daily for snow removal with promises to be done. But NO SHOW..
I am writing the co. to mail my 2 nd payment as well as March cheque. by the way
I was told there were 353 customers and 5 trucks???? I'll see how honest this company is. also I had to hire another co. to relieve my frustration. Louise
Hi Margaret
Thanks for your review. I know that I spoke to you personally on more then one occasion. I made it very clear that your check for March will absolutely not be cashed as you didn't want to continue services with us. However the check that was cashed January 1st would be a conversation you would have to have with the owner and even have you his direct number.
To make it very clear at no point was anyone told we have 353 customers .... we do have over 300 and 5 trucks ...but I'm not sure what that has to do with your contract. The owner is aware of the issues and knows a handful of his clients went without service. He has offered anyone who did have an issue a discount as customer satisfaction is very important to him. He most certainly will not let a handful of unsatisfied customers ruin the company he has built. The owner has been advised that you wished to cancel and discuss your check from Jan and will be in touch, or in turn you can call the number I gave you.
Thanks

Well what can i say, this company is one people should avoid if they plan on hiring them. Avoid them as they are rude and unprofessional. My mom hired them for snowplowing as she is now a widow and first snowfall they were a no show! They said they showed up but i don’t believe them for a second judging from the condition of everything where the snow seemed untouched. Many attempts were made to contact them and after a bit i finally got through to Pat who says he/she owns the company. So when i questioned he/she, i pretty much was hung up on and after calling back a few times got her once again. She was rude and never gave me a chance to speak because of all her over talking when i was saying something. Finally after questioning and listening to one excuse after another, i demanded my money back for my mom only to be told i was lying so it was obvious this wasn't going to happen. My mom and i have since moved on from this and we are not interested in any more excuses from them or services they offer. Its a shame that this happens in todays day.
To whom ever posted this on behalf of Mrs Malcolm,
I have spoken to her this evening in regards to this posting and she was not aware of it and has no idea what it is for. She did specify that it was done by her son in law. I can verify you most certainly did not experience anyone hanging up on you or yelling. whenever our phone calls are answered, if you were being rude or speaking in a loud tone you are reminded that yelling isnt going to solve the issue and if you cant speak to someone like a human then the call is over. It was offered to you on her behalf that the remainder of the season was "on the house" funny that it isn't posted in your review ????? We did have a servicing issue during a storm in January and that was explained to you over the phone, I know this because you agreed to the terms of our offer. Yet your review never changed. It has been explained to Mrs Malcolm that going forward she will still be serviced and that we have 12 hrs from the time the snow stops to have her driveway cleared. Respectfully we ask that this be changed to reflect that, or that you do the right thing and remove the review all together. Doesnt seem fair to post a bad review that doesnt have all the right information on it to make us look bad but then get the rest of the season at no charge and us to continue to service ???
Do the right thing
thanks Rhinocon
Paid $355. deposit nobody has been here since. I spoke to Chantelle today and she told me that Pat told her that he cleared our driveway and front walk yesterday. I came home last night and still no show. I would like my deposit back but doubt that will happen. They have offered that I don't have to make the 2nd payment as a resolution. I told Chantelle that if they show up I will honour our agreement. Still no show! Unbelievable. Chantelle repeats the same excuse she gave last Sunday that one truck broke down and one truck got in an accident leaving only one truck on the road. somethings not right here. Chantelle wasn't as pleasant this time, very much on the defensive as I tried to work this out.
January 24th 2020:
My mistake I paid $390. So if they actually did show up, it certainly wouldn’t be free not to mention having to chase them to show up. The first time I spoke to Chantelle she said 2 of the 3 trucks were down. Now she says they have 5 trucks. I have only one question for you Chantelle, where are the trucks and why hasn’t one of them shown up at my house?
Hi Diane
After speaking to you several times over the weekend and during the week this review really takes the wind out of my sails
Yes we had mechanical issues, yes we had a driver get in an accident, but no we don't have one truck left .... 5 minus 2 is 3 :)
I had let you know that I can only pass along the information that I received and with that being said pat understood the response time was unacceptable and there was clearly an issue and therefore offered you the rest of the season at no cost to show that his customer satisfaction is what matters most to him. I have offered this to not only you so I know exactly what I have said! I never said pat would be there right away I explained that his plan is to attempt to be out Friday night or Saturday morning. This was told to everyone I spoke to. There will not be an issue going forward and thats why pat has extended the offer he has. If you wish to cancel and continue to slander my name or rhinocons across the internet that's fine. I will let pat know you wish to cancel and he can deal with it from there. Or you can accept his offer of services until April at no charge to you and we can show you the kind of company we are. The choice is yours and we respect whatever one you choose. Just please give me a call to discuss !!!!
I do apologise if you felt I was defensive that is absolutely not my stance and I like to treat everyone the way they treat me !
Thanks Diane and we wish you all the best
FEB 1 2020
Diane, while we understand your frustration and have spoken directly to you, this is starting to become redundant. I have directly spoken to several people and have told the same thing to everyone, so no I dont get on with the same excuses. We have 5 trucks that do snow removal, we have over 300 customers. The last storm on Jan 18th we had one truck in an accident and another truck have a mechanical break down. that took a total of TWO trucks off the road. that means we had THREE trucks left, So i am not sure why we are debating this so much??
Also just to be clear you made an agreement to pay 390.00 twice, once at the time of signing and the other by check for FEB 1 2020. When we spoke I had told you that the owner was aware of the issues with servicing, and therefore we would offer you the remainder of the season at no cost to you (destroying the last check you wrote) so instead of paying 690 + hst for your service would you pay 390.00 and nothing more, so yes indeed the rest of the season from Jan to April is at no cost since your contract was more then 390.00. I have let the owner know about your postings and he will contact you to discuss futher, it isnt exactly fair for us to offer you a LARGE discount for services and still have you slander all over trusted pros
thanks
Rhinocon
I signed a contract for snow removal on Nov. 18, 2019 and gave him a cheque for one half of the total contract. Saturday, the snow fall came and I waited until Sunday and called the office number. No answer--mailbox full. I finally reached a woman who explained, truck breakdown, accident, would be there within 3 hours. Never came. Had to hire someone else. Called on Monday to cancel contract (they broke the contract), told her I want my money back.
Waited, no call Tuesday, called Wednesday and left a message. No return call.
Well, they can now answer to the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. A HORRIBLE GROUP TO DO BUSINESS WITH.
Hi Bev,
I know we got to speak a couple times over the past couple days and we are so sorry for the issues you have endured. Rest assured it isnt the way in which we conduct business.
I have let pat know that we spoke and due to the fact that you have hired another contractor you do not wish to continue services with us. He will be addressing any cancellations and refunds after this weekend (preparing in case there is snow) if you need anything else please feel free to reach out to me.
we wish you all the best
Do not use this company for snow removal!!!
I signed a contract in November for snow removal and paid a deposit. Shortly afterwards it snowed and they came to clear the snow in the late evening.
On Saturday January 19th, 2020 following a heavy snowfall they failed to show up. By Monday evening, I had missed 2 appointments and was still unable to get out of my driveway. I had no choice but to recruit someone else to clear the driveway. Rhino-con was no where to be seen or heard from.
I spoke with a woman on Sunday at Rhino-con who claimed that the snow plow had had an accident on Saturday evening. What kind of snow plow service only has one plow, no snow blowers and no shovels? I tried calling again multiple times to find out when they were coming but nobody answered and the voicemail box was full. I could not reach them by email as they have an unpublished email address.
Today is Wednesday. Their phone is still not being answered and the voicemail box is still full. Another resident in the neighbourhood who signed a contract with Rhinocon is also still waiting for them to come and clear the driveway. Thankfully, Rhinocon never collected the balance due on my contract.
Hi Maureen,
First off we would like to apologize for the lack of communication on our part, we have been trying to answer as many calls as possible and return voicemails as quickly as possible. Yes we did have a driver get in an accident however at no point were you advised that we have only one truck on the road, contrary to your accusations we have several trucks, shovels, snow blowers and employees. We certainly invite our customers to post either good or bad reviews which is certainly within your rights, however being truthful is more then fair to ask.
We most certainly do not have an unpublished email, and in fact I responded to an email sent to us through our website by you. our email address is linked to the website. We are a legit company that is also incorporated.
The voicemail for the company is not full and hasnt been for the last 24 hours as I have been working diligently to keep it open for our customers. We take our relationships very seriously with our customers and of course at the end of the day dont want to loose anyone, but want everyone to be serviced as promised.
In any case, we are very sorry for the issues you occured during the last snow fall, and wish you all the best
I hired this company to remove my snow for the season 2019-2020 and paid $200 up front after checking them out. A neighbour did as well. They came once after the storm in November but communication was very difficult since then. They did not come at all after this last storm and I was stuck. Their phone msg indicated that there was a problem with the truck and that they would get to me that day. Heard nothing since. I’d like to know what happened and if they will be back. I can’t reach them by phone so trying this way. was there a legitimate problem or have we been scammed?
Hi Wilma !
I am so glad I was able to touch bases with you today ! I am so sorry about the delay in service but it will be rectified as per our conversation !
Thanks so much and we look forward to our business relationship with you !
We are seniors living in Burlington. We signed a contract on Nov 28 for snow removal with Rhinocon. The total for the season was payable in 3 instalments. Payments for Dec and January were taken out of our bank account. After the snow storm on January 18th we waited for the snow to be cleared. Nobody showed up. We called and left many, many messages. No call back from Rhinocon. Finally on January 20th we asked one of our friends to clear the snow. No contact from RhinoCON at all. If Rhinocon can’t do the job they should return our money.
Hi James,
I apologize for the delay in service, however in order for us to help you I would need to know what your address is, please call the office so we can have this fixed immediately.
Hired them for the 2019-2020 season. They stated the snow would be removed within 4 hrs and they would come twice if necessary plus they will salt and whatever else. Cost $440 plus tax. As we all know there was no snow until Jan 18. We’ll guess what. They never showed up and never called. Texted them but no response. I called after about 30 hrs. They said a driver had an accident plus one the trucks broke down. However I was assured they would be there in 2-3 hrs. Ten hours later no one had shown up. I called but no answer. I texted them and said if my driveway was not cleaned by 7 am the contract is cancelled. I still haven’t heard from them. I will be working on getting my money back. If there was a zero star rating I would use it.
Hi Eugene !
I am glad we had the opportunity to speak the other day! I know that you were missed and had issues reaching us, but after our discussion i am confident that we can turn our relationship around with you and look forward to working together
thanks again Eugene
