Swiss Alpine Landscaping Ltd

We began working with Swiss Alpine in early spring when we met to discuss our project. They listened to our all of our ideas and came back to us with a design that completely blew us away. The project definitely had some unique challenges but they worked them in beautifully.

We built a new home in an older existing neighbourhood. The project included hardscape; large front staircase, patio and walkways, and extensive boulder work. The soft scape components included perennial gardens, trees and shrubs and front lawn.

The entire project took a month to install. The team worked hard every day, in very hot weather and always left the site neat and tidy at the days end. During the process they handled any changes or special requests with professionalism and a willingness to meet our wishes and ideas.

We are currently enjoying the beautiful landscape that Swiss Alpine provided us and hope to work with them again in the future.

Very professional. They came and remove an old shed, put up a temporary fence as I have a dog and there was a gap left by the removal of the building. They did grading and grass seeding in the back yard, they went the extra mile by cutting a few branches that were making too much shade, they left the temporary fence up after completion of work as I needed a bit of time to fence that area. The grass started growing within time frame indicated by Rick. The staff is professional and reliable. I am a satisfied customer. I called again as I need some branches/trees to be cut and soil for raised beds. Krystal quickly replies to e-mails.

Our existing retaining wall planters at the front of our house required repairs and new cap stones. We also asked Swiss Alpine to design a solution for a new retaining wall planter to finish off the side of our garage. The design presented to us definitely hit the mark and they were able to source materials to match our existing planter for a very cohesive result. New shrubs/perennials and mulch were installed in all our planters and we are very pleased with the results. Rick and his crew arrived to start work when promised, completed the job on schedule and on budget. We were especially impressed with their attention to detail and work ethic. The job site was kept neat and tidy throughout the process and the team made sure we were completely happy with the results once the work was complete. Swiss Alpine will definitely get a call when we need to tackle another project!

Rick and his team at Swiss Alpine did a great job of transforming our dumpy old yard into a beautiful outdoor living space that our family is thoroughly enjoying. The project included design services plus the construction of new steps, walkways, patio areas, and plants/landscaping. During the design phase they came up with some excellent suggestions, and they completed the project on schedule and as expected. I also appreciate that they stood behind their work by promptly following up the next spring to check on things and replace some plants under warranty. I trust Rick and his team, and highly recommend them.

We are very pleased with the landscaping and driveway installation by Swiss Alpine and crew. All expectations were met and we now have a beautiful and functional living space to enjoy all year through.

Rick and his team completely renovated our backyard! We had put in a pool the previous summer and wanted to create our own backyard oasis. Our yard turned out better than I had ever hoped with large boulders, a beautiful water fall and gorgeous shrubs, trees and plants.

Rick and his team were so professional and awesome while working at our home. They were fabulous with our two dogs and always tolerated their “help” with humour. They were super organized and paid tremendous attention to every little detail resulting in our perclfect yard.

Our project was a two phase project which was completed in two summers.

Phase One - backyard riverbank; Alpine came in and cut the river bank back and created an area close to the river that we could enjoy - built up with huge boulders creating a waterfall with a sitting area and fire pit; rock stairs down to this area and then additional rock stair down to the water front. It is amazing and far exceeded our expectations.

Phase Two - backyard; we installed an inground pool in which Alpine did all the surrounding rock and patio block, more rock stairs and they built a privacy fence. Again, they did a great job on this phase of the project and we are very happy with it.

(The two items below that I answered average too is only because there is not an option for good)

Timeliness - projects were completed within an acceptable amount of time

Cleanliness - was good, they were sure to put all tools away and equipment was moved to side of the yard out of the way as much as possible. Our expectation is that this would be standard practice of any contractor so answered this as average.

We have worked with Swiss Alpine several times over the years. They have consistently been all of the following: honest, ethical, diligent, dependable, empathetic and skilled. When you find people who have all these things going for them as a company, it's worth sticking with them. Not only did we have them do a huge backyard project in two stages over a few years, but we had them back more recently to do a smaller front yard reno as well as some follow-up refreshing of hardscape after several years.

If you're tired of people saying one thing and doing another, or in other ways not being dependable and trustworthy, then I'd recommend a quote from Swiss Alpine. Each project for them is unique -- and they are as careful with what you can't see as with the parts that are visible -- so you get something that lasts.

As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for.

Swiss Alpine (Rick K.) provided a reasonable quote to prune and shape a large cedar along the backside of my home and did excellent work in "shaping up" that cedar including cleanup in a timely and professional manner. I highly recommend Swiss Alpine Landscaping.

Working with Rick and Swiss Alpine, has been a very good experience. In all cases where we have called upon him he has quickly replied to requests, always showed up when he said he would, finished the job on time and the work is always top notch. Each job quoted has never come in over what he had quoted, unless we added some component to it. He kept us in the loop throughout the process and we appreciate it. We will certainly be using Swiss Alpine this upcoming season and for any other landscaping work we may need done.
