Hello,

We are about to start looking for quotes for a main floor addition/ remodeling or to add a second floor. Should we reach out to an architect or a contractor?

Thanks,

Holly

Hi Holly, If you have already chosen your contractor, you could ask them if they have an architect they use and trust. If you are going to put your project out for bids, you should go with the architect first. The most important thing you can do is to preselect as many items as you can so the architect can put them in the drawings. The objective is to get as much info into the drawings and specs as possible to ensure the contractors are going to come back with bids that you can compare on an "apples to apples" basis.

I don't know if this site includes architects but if you are serious about this, you should post your requirements in the projects section and see what happens - nothing to lose by trying.

Good Luck !
