We are looking to add an extension to a house in Clarington, Ontario. The house sits on large acreage and has easy access for machinery. We are looking at coming off the side of the house approximately 24' and going across 24' - so 576 square foot extension. We would need electrical and plumbing added as this would be the new kitchen. There would also need to have a slab poured for the addition. We would also like the peak of the roof to be higher than the current home that it is adjoining to. No new appliances, just the install of the kitchen cabinets, etc. Need an approximate cost to complete. Thank you.

Hey Rob,
Very difficult to quote a project at this size with the details you mentioned.
However, you should be expecting to pay approximately $200-$300+ per square foot for a kitchen addition on your home depending on finishes. This is also assuming your existing mechanical services can accommodate a new addition.
Cost to build a home addition vary from $250 per square foot on the cheapest end to $450 / sq. ft. or even more for custom top-notch work. Accurate estimated can be provided only after analyzing architectural drawings with all technical details, calculating number of man-hours for completing the project and determining the total expenses for materials, fixtures and finishing products.
