We are renovating our cottage. We have 1420 square feet of flooring to be completed- vinyl and laminate. (620 and 800 respectively) we have purchased our own flooring. Our contractor that is completing the rest of the renos is charging us quite a bit to install these floors. I'm curious what the standard install cost is per square foot ? What does a flooring professional charge these days?
Big mistake buying own floor. How is your contractor suppose to make money? U want to save $ do it yourself. Install us about $3-4/ft2
Shop around! Should be able to get it for $2.00-$2.50/sq. easy!
Laminate installation is as low as $3.50/sq ft
Off the top I would say $3-5 per square foot.
There are several factors to consider that will put you on the low end or high end.
Price per sq.ft. can only be only be quoted accurately for brand new construction.
Just a word of advice...be aware of contractors that quote low prices without looking at the whole job just to get a contract, and than walk away when they realize the're loosing money.
Hi
To many factors will affect this pricing especially it's a cottage? First thing is to make sure that you get a reliable installer than saving money for such a small job otherwise will be a much more headache for you
You could say average of $5000
We would charge $3.50 per sq ft so around $5k
