You probably need the old caulking / grout to be removed and new grout/ caulking added. I do this for many clients showers, can make the shower look new again and strong water proofing for many years. I would need to see more pics to quote the work.

Thanks

Hi Martin, I don't want to upset you, but it's not a surface problem. The fact is that you have develop mold behind the ceramic tiles and no matter how you fix it again and again it will coming up. And the Reason why it happened, because was installed organic materials behind the tile. Between these products and the tiles, if a waterproofing membrane was installed in principle, then it was not installed correctly

You have 3 options.

1. You can try mix water and acid and try to wash them, but be really careful and use gloves and protection glasses.

2. If 1 option doesn't work then you can buy GROUT REFRESH from MAPEI, check in Lowe's or Rona it's around $15-20 and one bottle is enough. With this you can change grout colour if you want too. Your grout will be like brand new plus inside is sealer so it's 2 in one. Work on small section, if you fail you can repeat process. Best is small brush, after you apply colour leave for few minutes and wash with sponge in case you have colour on tile, repeat process if you wash some colour from grout. If colour dry on tile you can still clean them but it's longer process. Make sure tile and grout are clean and dry before application. This is the easiest and best option, you need for shower maybe 2-3 hours but you will get perfect new grout lines.

3. This is the worst option, you take old grout out with knife or special tools, joints need to be perfect clean. If this is in shower need to be carful to not cut waterproof membrane under tile because then water leak is possible. After cleaning everything need to be dry and dust free. Apply new grout, make sure that you are using high quality grout I recommend MAPEI ULTRACOLOUR PLUS sealer is already in grout.

I recommend 2 option, is cheaper one and perfect result.

Is this in the shower? Looks like mold according to the picture. Try mold cleaner. Take caution when using as it may contain bleach and ammonia. Follow the directions. I will say it looks minor if I am correct. Or it could be a sign of water getting under the tiles.
