John did an excellent, job, very professional with great ideas, really knows his craft with flawless results. Prompt and friendly, I will hire him for any future tiling jobs !!
Good workmanship and good communication. Job done on a timely manner.
Jonathan was recommended by our tile provider. He said the job would take no more than 2 weeks. Which was good as we had the painters coming in after him. He would regularly show up at 11 am and leave before 3pm and a few days didn't even show up. He did bring in an employee who did half of the work in half of the time. Overall the workmanship was satisfactory as a few tiles he had to replace because they were not level. Further, by the end of the 3rd week he wasn't completed the tile, had not grouted and complained that he had to work alongside the painters who had now come into the house. . So much so and out of the blue he threatened to take back the grout and we would have to get someone else to finish the job. He did apologise for saying that, but when I contacted him the next week to set up a date to complete the job he said he wasn't available. Very disappointing, would definitely not recommend.
I'm sorry to hear that Jim. I did what I could. Unfortunately the floor had a very bad bow in it as you can see. They were short rectified tiles covering a hard bowed floor stretched over only 6 feet. Limited to the space, I did my best. My helper did what was asked which was two bathroom walls out of three and I did all the floors and prep in the entire house. I wasn't recommended, I was provided thru the flooring provider. No threats were made, I took the epoxy grout back to the store so that it would be there for another installer to use should I not be able to return. As for my hours, Unfortunately I have two young children who go to school in St. Catharines and the job was over an hour away in Wainfleet. What you failed to mention is that there were also nights that I made up the difference and didn't leave until 8, 9 at night. I left the job site at 3 twice the time I was there, once was to pick up another load of tile and the other was to get more installation materials because they close at 5 which was also in St. Catharines. Also, I might add that should you venture into to having tiles installed again, perhaps don't have other contractors walking all over fresh tiles. I didn't expect to have the house all to myself but some communication perhaps on both parts could have rectified some of these issues. I wish you and your wife all the best.
John was incredibly attentive to the details of our project and worked closely with us to ensure that the tile and stone could be flawlessly installed. We would unquestionably trust, and recommend him for projects where knowledge, care and exacting standards are concerned. Looking forward to the next big project.
Thank you Tami. It was a pleasure working with you and Jay. I loved the way it all turned out from the linear drain to the stone feature wall. The space is very well used and the backlit mirror is a nice touch. I look forward to helping you on the next one.
