Do you grout the bathroom floor tile that is underneath the vanity?
Ideally yes. The reasoning being that if you were to have water make its way under the vanity it will want to pool in the gaps between the tiles and will either leak through to sub floor layers, or slowly erode/damage the mortar holding down the tiles themselves. If you have the opportunity to grout these tiles, i would take it. If not, try and seal the bottom of the vanity with some silicon caulking to prevent the pooling.
Yes you grout all area covered with new tiles.
Hello! You should grout the entire floor, making sure the color is consistent from initial install. If you end up making changes down the road it matches the main areas, sometimes its hard to match older areas.
Yep, assuming you are taking your time to do things in the proper order. I've seen people install vanities before grout, not really the correct process. Down the road if someone were to renovate or put in a floating vanity.. You would need to grout and the grout wouldn't match.
You can for sure get away with it but it sounds like a quick corner cut.
Cheers,
Tom
Yes depending on available space under vanity
For the additional labour, yes. Grout will prevent any water from seeking between the tiles and reactivating the mortar...or soaking into the subfloor.
Yes. You grout all the tiles.
It is huge mistake not to grout under the Vanity or toilet Speaking from prior Experience , l can tell you, story after story of leaky under the Vanity or Toilets the nasty damage they do to a home over years going Unnotice.
Hi,
Yes, I would definitely Grout the tiles beneath the vanity. It protects the service below. It also makes it easier down the road if you choose to change the vanity.
Lately, the trend has been floating vanities and here the tiles are totally exposed. Make sure you seal the Grout so that it does not get discolouration from wear and tear.
