About 300 to 350 sq ft depending on the quality of paint.

Hi Don,

1 gallon of paint would cover up to 400 square foot with one coat and good quality paint.

You are looking at about 330sq.ft. per gallon. With good quality paint.

Thanks guys.

Just so I'm clear, an 800sqft room would need roughly 5 cans of paint for 2 coats?!?

It would be between 4 and 5 gallons, unless the space is broken up into rooms then it would be more. Though you can stretch out the paint if you use a 13 mm micro-fibre roller sleeve, instead of the usual synthetic type. It will cost just a bit more and it rolls the paint on smoother as well. Looks better and less effort. You can get them at Home Depot or any paint store. Also, using a quality paint helps, at least a mid grade in a well known brand.

Hope this is helpful. Happy painting!
