If you are losing heat values through places like your roof than I believe it is worth the time money and effort to do it or have it done.

Any insulating you do will reap benefits for you, they may be in different ways, comfort, piece of mind and monetary.

Check and see if there is still a government home reno grant available to you, or eco energy grant, I gutted my house and re insulated all the exterior wall, foundation walls, attic, some new windows...I got 65% of the money back under the eco energy program.

If you can insulate for next to no money, then obviously it is a great benefit. Other wise, insulating is a long term return on your money, it takes many years to get your invested money back in energy and utility savings, just my take on it.

Hello Debora,

James and Tim are absolutely right and yes it takes many years to get your invested money back in energy and utility savings, however all energy prizes no matter if oil, gas or electricity will permanently increase. In less than 10 years you'll already pay more than double what you are paying right now. Just watch back what you paid for energy 10 years ago. This will automatically answer your question.
