No permit for heat pump installation

I just discovered my contractor did not pull a permit prior to installing my heat pump. This work has been done a few years back! Contractor made no mention of needing a permit and I had not a clue about this stuff. I accept the blame on my ignorance of the rules and regulations and for having too much trust that a licensed contractor would know and follow the law!

What can I do now to be in compliance with the city regulations? I don't want to be in trouble!

Contractor license is still active.

please help!! I am super stressed

Hi Nora,

I would visit the building department in your city and explain the situation.

Cheers
