Soundproof basement

We have a basement with Roxul Safe n Sound in the ceiling between the joists and a drop ceiling. Ground floor flooring was changed from carpet to hardwood and the noise (I'm more concerned about sound than impact) transfer from ground floor to basement has increased. I would like to reduce this , but I'd like to keep the drop ceiling. Basement and ground floor use the same ducting, and I'm willing to consider solutions that reduce ducting noise transmission.

Hi,

With keeping the drop ceiling you could do another layer of safe n sound. You would have to push the first layer of safe n sound to the bottom of the first floor subfloor and the second layer flush with bottom of joists.
