Looking to convert a conventional shower into a steam shower for a new home where builder will not provide service. What would be a cheaper conversion from plumbing and structural cost stand point: (i) from acrylic tub and shower, (ii) from stand alone tile shower; or (iii) from stand alone glass shower?
Secondly what would the approximate labour cost be to install a steam unit, seal the shower, slope the roof and do all work necessary to ensure no moisture issues?
Thirdly, is there anything I can ask the Builder to do to aid in installation?
Hire a professional to do the job, someone who does steam showers for a living that's the less expensive way, you don't have the expertise to figure out how, even asking in this site or others I encountered many people trough out the years that trying to save 10 cents spend a dollar my advice hire a professional, and you can't have builder to do something that it isn't in his layouts or designs if your home is not a custom made he won't.
