I have a kitchen with a wild blue and grayish tile floor, dark gray counters, and some white and off white cabinets. I want to paint the walls a great color and not blue or gray-have tried those samples and it looks boring.
What colours would look good?
You're trying to match blue, white and dark greys. All pretty neuturl and easy to match.
With looking at it, you could do:
Light green
Light grey
Medium/Deep blue
An off white, Creme, blue, green, yellow, red if you wanna be interesting
It all depends on you.
I wouldn't do any oranges, I also hate orange in homes because it's an extreme colour and you wanna be comfortable in your home.
Really the only colour that could go wrong here is certain deep tones of colours and orange.
You can also take a picture and go on the Dulux website and it'll help colour match for you!
Which shades of red or yellow would you recommend? I don't want it to look patriotic if I do a red. Cranberry?
A canary yellow goes with those tones already in the room. Also a very inviting color for a kitchen.
Thank you. I am not sure I like yellow. Cranberry?
Hi Karin,
I would suggest Edgecomb Gray (HC-173). Its a Benjamin Moore colour that you can have matched by any paint company to save money. Though this is a warm gray due it having yellow hues it will really compliment your existing kitchen colours and bringing out your floors.
