Hello,
We have currently been asked to paint the hallways in an apartment building cimplex we currently provide reno services in. I am not sure what i should charge them per sf.
The hallways are 200ft long with a ceiling height of 8ft.
I am estimating 20 gallons of paint per floor.
Can any professional painters let me know what price range i should be charging..
Thank you
Average paint price is $2-4 per sqft. For 2 coats. If you apply primer which you should then you're closer to $5 or $6. This is in the high end.
You have to account for patching if that's required. It typically is.
However, if you want to break it down line by line then cost of paint, the laborers' rate per hour times how many hours you think it will need, material etc and then markup your profit.
Hope this helps.
You will get 350sqft of coverage per gallon. Your paint is roughly 45/gallon. Do the math and then multiply that by 4. This is a good base price, for labour. Material costs what it costs, so you need to figure that out. Then you need to figure out what it takes to paint in. Who ever said $6/sqft is dreaming.
For an apartment hallway?! Be wise here. Get the job and charge $/sqft on the wall. Hallways are easy.
Material- $45/gallon devided by 350sqft of coverage.
That gets your cost per coat. Now figure that out. Multiply by 4 for labour and blend the two.
