Hi Linda I contractor here in Ontario when i do bathroom renos i completely tear out the whole bathroom and start fresh this way you can address all issues and do things to today's building code standards like ceiling fans, electrical, plumbing etc so typically a 8x5 bathroom starts at 9500.00 plus Gst so in your case you really don't know till you tear out everything and see whats going on remember its your investment you are protecting if you have any questions email me at bharvey7@cogeco.ca
Thanks

thanks for your reply the first thing we are going to to is remove the tiles and fix that because that is what really needs to be done first the rest of the btrm is ok the basement we will do later
Very hard to say how much a shower/tile job is going to run...but we have seen simple jobs (for example tearing down a shower stall, waterproofing and retiling running around $5K. But there are so many variables, it is hard to even know where to start - but one thing that is common to all: moulds, demolition and waterproofing. Things like fixtures and tiles are up to you but look at about 4-5 days work for two guys to give you a guaranteed waterproof shower/bath or whatever.
Linda,
After reading some of these contractors responses , get several quotes. I've renovated over 150 bathrooms easily and on average just for replacing tile in the tub and new tile floor , not changing any fixtures or cabinetry , cost is 3200.00
Thats including tearing out all the old and replacing with a product called blueboard and tile
Russ from Mlrs Ltd. GOOD LUCK !!
Nice try Russ, you did not do this kitchen you took this picture out of a magazine. There is no way you could have completed this project!!!!!!!! Scammer.
Yes. Russ will take 1/2 your money, abandon the job , never answer your calls, but when he does not recognize them and when he does mistakenly answer them, promise to refund, but never follow through.
Stay Clear.
I would love to get the money back that Russ took from us, I hear he has ripped off many other customers aswell. There has to be a way for all of us to get together and sue him. It would be nice to put a stop to this scum.
sure russ could have completed the job...if he was given about 200 years to do so....he would have forgotten that he used every lie in the book and yu would have forgotten his face and he could scam you all over again! on second thought...he would justy take the money and run, right russ!
