My house was built in 1969. It is the home my parent built. I have a basement, the full length of the home which 85' long and 28' wide. The down stairs bed room on the northwest side of the house we have a problem with water or dampess against this wall.

I know in 1969 this wall had tare or black mama and plastic put on before the dirty was back filled. This wall has a white looking cystral on this wall. We have clean this off before and used a dry lock sealer and painted.

This dampess is only during the winter months here in North Alabama. We live about 40 miles southeast of Hunstville, Alabama.

How do we repair this wall and with what. What is the best way to repair this and what materials? I understand we will have to remove the dirty down to footing, but what then.

Thanks!

John
