I am considering to replace my stucco based siding to a HardieBoard like new one.
The house if fairly 'dificult', many corners, about 30 windows on 3 levels. the surface is about 5000 sf. What would be a fair fibercement installation rate? The house is in Quebec.
Average labour rate for Hardi-siding is $3.00 per square foot plus approx. $2.50 per square foot in materials.
Quotes I am getting so far for the project are 50-100% higher than 'reasonable estimates' that
were taking from the structural engineering company that performed the structural analysis.
The lowest price to install ( no old stucco removal, sheeting repair etc) the new siding i got
at about 77K incl labor and materials.
Where do I start when risk or management 'overhead' represents 50- 100% of the cost of work?
Again the project is in Quebec City and the area may have limited labor resources.
Thank you for any professional guidance.
Im from BC so may be a little diffrent there we use alot or certainteed fibre cement siding as we are ticketed installers and as a rule its is cheaper than hardi plank and supply and install is $ 4 sq materials included.
Thank you. So from your prospective what is the best vendor, should I go to Hardies product
for large 4X pre-painted pannels and that is about $6 per sf installed or go to another brend
to save some money? Also, I am thinking to possibly add another tier or layer of the
fibercement panel to double the thinkness of the siding and add to the energy savings. How much more it should cost to install? Does it make sense to do if walls - windows dimensions will allow me to do so?
