We want to put new blown in insulation in the attic of our 1032 sq ft bungalow in Cochrane, Ab. We have been told it is a good idea to remove the old insualtion first.
We are willing to put in the new insulation ourselves but need to find a company to remove the old insulation.
Could I please get an estimate for the removal of the old blown in insulation.
Hi Teresa, you should put this in the "post your project" section so you can get some local contractors to have a look at your situation.
I am sure there are some good guys out there that can give you a hand.
Good luck with it!

What type of insulation do you need removed? If is not a hazardous material, why not consider just adding more insulation over it.
Who advised you to remove it and why?
You could add more blown dry insulation or have a 2 lb spray foam insulation over the old insulation and provide both insulation and a vapour barrier in one application.

Just curious what you found out, Teresa. I am also in Cochrane with a 35 year old bungalow (1100 sq ft), and need to re-insulate my attic.
Who did you go with and what sort of costs did you spend (and save) with new insulation?
Thanks.
