James, it depends on the width of the stairs, the size of the pad (and thickness) and several other factors such as where you are, ease of access, current cost of materials and several other items. I'd suggest contacting a local contractor and ask for a current estimate.

Hi Mark, the width of stairs will be 48" with 3 10" treads. The pad I want is 5" thick and say 5' by 3'

Concrete steps cost roughly $2,000 on average. The majority of projects cost between $900 and $5,000. The cost of your staircase is determined by the number of steps and the size of the staircase you require. Pouring cement costs roughly $300 per step, including supplies and labour, if the step is 2 feet broad and 11 inches deep. The cost of precast concrete stairs, including labour, is around $100 per step. Expect to pay between $400 and $700 for the removal of an existing staircase when replacing it.
