Our Acton home is a 1 1/2 storey, built in 2000, with an unfinished basement.
Basement square footage is 668 square feet, which is roughed in for a three piece bath.
Basement currently has a crack in the corner foundation which leaks with heavy rainfall and melting snow. Has not been previously repaired (that we are aware of). It is beleived the source of the leak problem is due to an exterior problem with the driveway, which slopes downwards towards the garage where water visibly pools (and leaks into the foundation below)..
We want to have the basement leak repaired, and the driveway regraded before commencing with our basement project. The basement needs to be framed, insulated, drywalled, and we would like it to have; partially drywalled and drop ceilings, bathroom (hopefully with a shower if room permits), a bar area, and a T.V area, with storgae built in beneath the stairs.
We want basement leak fixed first, with time to evaluate the repair before finishing the basement..
My wife and I just bought a house with an unfinished basement in Acton. We were hoping that you would be able to provide us with an approximate quote to finish the basement.
To explain the area:
2 rooms (great room 550 sq ft, laundry room 10 x 10)
1 closet under stairs
If you would prefer, we can set up an appointment to visit the house and you could get more accurate measurements and quote at that point we would just need to set it up ahead of time.
Thanks for your time. Hope to hear from you soon.

I used this website and hired a contractor from here to finish my basement. The job that was supposed to take 3 weeks took 8.5 months. The contractor is now refusing to come fix anything.
I have ceiling paint that doesn't go to the wall, I have doors that aren't straight / don't open (get stuck on the floor), i have carpeted stairs that were installed just with a nail gun, uneven ceiling tiles, and he stopped the flooring at the furnace room door, not carrying it through, walls that haven't received a second coat etc
I have spoken to a lawyer, and was advised I needed to get a few contractors in to quote what they would need to fix this mess, at which time, I can go after the original contractor for those costs, and have the new contractor come and repair.
I know it's not a job most people want, and I understand you or your company may not want to write a quote, stating its to finish the basement that "company A" didn't do.
If you are interested, please let me know. I would like to get my quotes next week, so i can file paperwork and get this basement done. 8.5 months is a very long time to be in renovation mode, but I can not go down there without frustration due to the state its been left in.
