Hi!
I recently got some Drawings completed to update / make-code a basement apartment in our house.
I’m able to do some of the grunt/demo/finishing work but need someone with proper skills/licensing to to the work. Mostly plumbing with a below grade bathroom with some basic framing and electrical.
I have pricing drawings that I can send out.
Ideally I could get this done before the end of summer to rent out in the fall but I’m flexible.
Thanks,
Brad
Renovate the basement to create an accessory apartment. It will require the creation of 2 bedrooms and a living room as well as frame in and drywall ceilings. An addition of 6 receptacles, 4-6 pot lights, 2 light fixtures, 2 switches and 3 closets is planned
Square footage is approximately 650 sq ft
Kitchen already exists
Electrician is required
Hi, I was wondering if you would be able to provide an estimate for some work we need done in our basement. Currently the basement is not finished, the home is 8 years old. we would be looking for someone to install and finish a bathroom (there is a plumbing rough in) and also frame in the entire basement for future finishing (replace existing insulation etc as needed and install framing and electrical in exterior walls) We will be finishing the basement further in the future but would like to keep an open concept with the only rooms being the utility room and bathroom.
I am looking to have some renovations done to my partially finished basement. Currently, there is a finished rec room and a rough in for a bathroom next to the laundry room. I would like to split the rec room into two rooms (bedroom and small TV/play area). This would involve modifications to the window for fire code and also moving a wall to extend the remaining area into part of the current laundry area. Also, I would like to have the bathroom finished (basic bathroom with sink, toilet, tub/shower).
The bedroom will be used by one of my children, so it is important that it meets the requirements for the fire code. I will need help with all permits, etc. for the renovation.
I am hoping to have this project completed by April/May, but I am not sure if the window modifications can only be done at certain times of year?
We have an open finished basement. We would like one room built to divide the space...two walls with a door would need to be put up....bedroom would be about 300sq. I would like the quote to include walls, door hung, dry wall taped and finished, and trim. We will have the carpet installed and then we would like the trim put on once the carpet is down.
Looking forward to hearing about the possibilities for the basement.
Thanks,
Kim
The project is for a basement. The house is 8 years old, needing to finish basement. house is about 1350-1450 square feet, it's 2 story house. Plans for basement, wood panel for flooring, basement walls have full insulation. Would like to have 1 small/medium room, small a laundry room, and 1 bathroom with standing shower. Wish to get estimate based on description, pictures are provided below
This project is to complete a basement in a 50 year old house. Basement is approx. 625 sq. feet. Basement now incomplete, no insulation or drywall, but has one 'particle board' bedroom and laundry room. These need removal, as does existing stairway.
As well, would potentially like to remove boiler (rented) and water softener in favor of instant hot water heater. Would also like to remove relatively-new forced air furnace and install underfloor heating throughout house (1 1/2 stories, 950 sq. feet excluding basement). Four larger windows could be installed in basement.
Would like to have well-insulated and drywalled basement with one large bedroom, one full bathroom, a small laundry area and some storage space.
Ideally, this project could be undertaken Feb-March, during weekdays.
Require Contractor to Finish approximately 350 square feet of Basement Area.
Job includes:
- Walls: Installing Drywall, Taping, Finishing
- Install Wall and 2 Doors: 1 for laundry room / 1 for storage area
- Ceiling: Frame around Duct work, Drywall, Finish
- Flooring: Install Laminate Flooring and Moldings
- All surfaces to be Painted
Note: Basement is Framed, Insulated, and Electrical is complete.

Looking for quotes on finishing the basement of a new Granite townhouse. Approx 500 sq ft- fully finished. Builder has quoted us based on 305 sq ft rec room, 164 sq ft bedroom and 3 pc bathroom with the basic builder finishes. Hoping to get some comparative quotes from local contractors. Closing date is early October.
We are looking at finishing 1300 sq ft of our 1500 sq ft basement.
Included in the finished space would be one bathroom that is already roughed in that would include a tub/shower. We would also like 1 bedroom, a gas fireplace, and we would need to replace our sliding doors. The rest would be finished open space.
The electrical panel has already been upgraded and the gas line is close to where the fireplace would be installed. Our furnace and air were done last year.
We are looking at approximate cost of doing this project. Thanks so much in advance!
Hello
We are thinking of buying a house with an unfinished basement. The basement has some finished space, but it is not done to a good standard and would need revisiting. There is a rough-in for a bathroom down there already, and we would need some of the space leaving for housing the furnace and water heater. I would like someone to come take a look with us and give me an estimate for the work, and deliverable on timing should we move ahead with the purchase. We ould not need painting, just wall and ceiling.
Thanks

I have a partially finished basement that needs finishing. We would require around 600 sq. feet of ceiling to be insulated and drywalled around pot lights, the furnace to have a wall (with access) built around it and a small 8' wall to be finished and drywalled with a 30" door installed. Prefer to have as much sound proofing as possible, so recommendations on tpes of insulation etc. are appreciated.
I am in guelph and can have materials bought and waiting or you can buy your own, please quote both ways.
10 year old semi detached house, framing and insulation and rough in for bathroom already there, about 7 by 10 meters (rough estimate) , looking at putting down floor, drywall, ceiling with lighting, put in 3 piece bathroom and storage closet, rest will be open concept- no rooms to build-, would prefer laminate rather than carpet also with heated floor, ....those are all must haves, wish list is gas fireplace (already one upstairs with gas line) and soaker tub in bathroom depending on over all cost.

Please provide references and an idea of costs if possible.
Thank you
