I am looking to have some renovations done to my partially finished basement. Currently, there is a finished rec room and a rough in for a bathroom next to the laundry room. I would like to split the rec room into two rooms (bedroom and small TV/play area). This would involve modifications to the window for fire code and also moving a wall to extend the remaining area into part of the current laundry area. Also, I would like to have the bathroom finished (basic bathroom with sink, toilet, tub/shower).
The bedroom will be used by one of my children, so it is important that it meets the requirements for the fire code. I will need help with all permits, etc. for the renovation.
I am hoping to have this project completed by April/May, but I am not sure if the window modifications can only be done at certain times of year?
We have an open finished basement. We would like one room built to divide the space...two walls with a door would need to be put up....bedroom would be about 300sq. I would like the quote to include walls, door hung, dry wall taped and finished, and trim. We will have the carpet installed and then we would like the trim put on once the carpet is down.
Looking forward to hearing about the possibilities for the basement.
The project is for a basement. The house is 8 years old, needing to finish basement. house is about 1350-1450 square feet, it's 2 story house. Plans for basement, wood panel for flooring, basement walls have full insulation. Would like to have 1 small/medium room, small a laundry room, and 1 bathroom with standing shower. Wish to get estimate based on description, pictures are provided below
This project is to complete a basement in a 50 year old house. Basement is approx. 625 sq. feet. Basement now incomplete, no insulation or drywall, but has one 'particle board' bedroom and laundry room. These need removal, as does existing stairway.
As well, would potentially like to remove boiler (rented) and water softener in favor of instant hot water heater. Would also like to remove relatively-new forced air furnace and install underfloor heating throughout house (1 1/2 stories, 950 sq. feet excluding basement). Four larger windows could be installed in basement.
Would like to have well-insulated and drywalled basement with one large bedroom, one full bathroom, a small laundry area and some storage space.
Ideally, this project could be undertaken Feb-March, during weekdays.
Looking for quotes on finishing the basement of a new Granite townhouse. Approx 500 sq ft- fully finished. Builder has quoted us based on 305 sq ft rec room, 164 sq ft bedroom and 3 pc bathroom with the basic builder finishes. Hoping to get some comparative quotes from local contractors. Closing date is early October.
We are thinking of buying a house with an unfinished basement. The basement has some finished space, but it is not done to a good standard and would need revisiting. There is a rough-in for a bathroom down there already, and we would need some of the space leaving for housing the furnace and water heater. I would like someone to come take a look with us and give me an estimate for the work, and deliverable on timing should we move ahead with the purchase. We ould not need painting, just wall and ceiling.
-Please provide online estimate
-New house (less than 2 years old) - currently have drywall going down stairs, remainder of the basement is insulated but unframmed
-Looking to turn unfinished basement into one large rec room (20 ft x 20 ft), one laundry/utilities room (10 ft x 10 ft), one bathroom (8 ft x 6 ft) and one storage room under stairs.
-Interested in two quotes. One for just framing, drywall and taping/mudding. One for complete finishing (including ceiling, flooring, electrical as well)
- Approx. 450 sq ft. in basement area (House built in 1996).
- Already studs and insulation in place.
- Require drywall installed in living area & Ceiling, hallway & Ceiling, stairs area, laundry room, two storage areas.
- Drop ceiling tiles in laundry room.
- Would like to install a two piece bathroom if possible.
- Electrical wall plugs (approx 10 req, boxes in place already).
- (6) halogen recessed ceiling lighting installed in living area.
- Ceiling light installed in hallway, laundry room and stair area.
- Three doors installed.
- Vinyl flooring installed in hall area, laundry room and storage areas.
- Subfloor installed in living area to prep for carpet.

I have a partially finished basement that needs finishing. We would require around 600 sq. feet of ceiling to be insulated and drywalled around pot lights, the furnace to have a wall (with access) built around it and a small 8' wall to be finished and drywalled with a 30" door installed. Prefer to have as much sound proofing as possible, so recommendations on tpes of insulation etc. are appreciated.
I am in guelph and can have materials bought and waiting or you can buy your own, please quote both ways.
10 year old semi detached house, framing and insulation and rough in for bathroom already there, about 7 by 10 meters (rough estimate) , looking at putting down floor, drywall, ceiling with lighting, put in 3 piece bathroom and storage closet, rest will be open concept- no rooms to build-, would prefer laminate rather than carpet also with heated floor, ....those are all must haves, wish list is gas fireplace (already one upstairs with gas line) and soaker tub in bathroom depending on over all cost.
- new build - house to be complete end of 2011/early 2012, so project will start shortly after that
- approx. 800 sq. ft.
- insulation, drywall, paint, carpet, ceiling
- 2 piece bathroom (toilet & sink)
- possible bedroom?
- stairs to the basement is finished by the builder

New doors may also have to be put up in certain areas. We are hoping to spend 20,000 give or take.

Looking to replace a drop ceiling with a drywall one, lighting, replace bathroom shower, change some ventilation duct work. 2001 house, basement is already finished, but done somewhat poorly. Basically we don't like how it was refinished and want to make it more livable. We are looking to have it done relatively soon and are going to price out the best person for the job.
I have a 1500 sq. ft. backsplit with a finished basement, but it's one big open space. I would like to re-design it to include a bedroom, bathroom, and a sitting area. Would like it re-designed so that it doesn't feel like your in a dark basement.
House is about 13 yrs old.
