Hello, we are considering a second floor addition to add more space to our home, which is less than 900 square feet, built around 1914. Our dilemma is that would it be most cost effective to stay in our home and renovate or move. We also need to find out if the home can withstand this type of renovation (believe it has a stone rubble foundation).
Would you be able to assist us with finding out and possibly give us a quote on what it would cost to complete this project?
Thank you.
The ouse is over 50 years old but has forced air gas. It's a side split on Fallingbrook Cres. in Ancaster and has no storage since there is only a crawl space in the furncae/laundry room. We thought we could put a larger shed on property as well and have electricity and heat hooked up but also since the house only has a car port with a roof and side walls we thought about having an additon on top of the garage with stairs going up from inside. The present dining room would be below or beside the garage. Am not sure how large the master could be. The main bath is on the other side of the home and so is the kitchen. Also would want to change the 60's look at the front of the house from brick and metal siding to either stucco with some nice 2-3 feet of slate stone etc. as an accent and maybe change the front window.
