We are owners of a townhouse and we are looking at replacing the bath and shower plus having the floor done in our bathroom.
We are also looking at replacing the carpeting throughout the house with a mixture of hardwood and laminate flooring. This includes upstairs 3 bedrooms plus the hall - approximately 500 square feet, which we would like to do with laminate flooring. The main floor living room, approximately 250 square feet in hardwood and a downstairs room, about 300 square feet in laminate.
We are looking for a contractor to remove and replace a bathtub, tile surround and floor. Bathtub to be soaker acrylic, and tiles will be white subway 3x12 or 3x16 porcelain with an accent row of mosaic tiles. Tub space is about 59"x32". Also we are looking to replace the floor with ceramic 12x24 tiles. Floor demo will involve removal of laminate, under which is partial linoleum tiles from the 70s with the top layer removed. New subfloor likely required to build up floor level to match hallway. Tiled area is 55x109" plus 27"x46" closet. Vanity will be gone, we will install an Ikea (purchased) wall mounted vanity after tiles are in. We are also planning to do the toilet ourselves, you just need to rough in tile. Also install baseboard.
We have some materials chosen at Home Depot but we will entertain your options if they are close to the style we are looking for.
A free no-obligation quote with your visit would be appreciated once we review responses.
Thanks.
A main floor bathroom is leaking under wood and pipe into the basement bathroom underneath. There is a wet section on a thick piece of horizontal support wood in basement that has a dripping leak, and dripping leak on a small copper pipe. All this under the floor of the main floor toilet. The toilet has had leaking problems in the pass. Also need the main floor bathroom sink beside the toilet, and the shower examine for leaking since hear a drip too when main shower or bathroom sink is running behind the bathroom wall.
To repair leak coming from upstairs bathroom through ceiling below. To supply and install one waste and overflow- pop-up. To repair ceiling from leak damage once fixed.
To remove bulkhead above bathtub. To remove old existing bath tub from bathroom and old tub surround. To installing new drywall and installing tiling around shower wall and tub. To installing new bathtub and shower and tub faucets.
To grout tub enclosure and caulk all necessary areas.
Our century home's plumbing and bathrooms are in need of an overhaul.
Challenges:
- Current plumbing uses galvanized pipe
- We wish to minimize damage to walls above basement level
- Aging finished basement means plumbing is currently concealed behind drywall; we anticipate a full demolition here.
- Heating pipes (ideally not being replaced) are wrapped in original insulation; a section has previously been removed and certified as asbestos-free.
- Basement features several floor drains (at least one covered with decaying flooring); autumn/winter brings strong odour into the basement
Ideal outcomes:
- Replacement of water feed to house
- Replacement of water distribution within house (PEX?)
- Replacement of outdoor faucet and addition of secondary outdoor faucet at rear of home
- Remodelled 2nd floor bathroom (3-piece)
- Remodelled basement bathroom (3-piece, possibly switched with laundry room)
- Levelling of basement floor and elimination of drains
Queries:
- We have encountered difficulties with draining from our kitchen sink; drains may need to be reviewed for replacement also.

I live in Upper Stoney Creek. I'm looking to make the reno by the end of January. Successful completion of this job would lead to other opportunities, such as a complete ensuite bathroom renovation and kitchen refacing in the future.
Hi,
I have 2 adjacent bathrooms with each having a toilet and a vanity but only one has a tub. I'm considering moving the dividing wall between both rooms to equalize the spaces, take out the bathtub and install a shower in both bathrooms. I'm sure you've had experience on similar projects and would be able to bring your expertise to the job.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
Abi
Hi Im looking for a quote for removing old tub and installing new 60" x 32" tub as well as removing old single sink vanity and installing new 60" double sink vanity. Tile and old faucet/shower system removed in tub/shower area and new tile and faucet/shower system installed. We also will need two lighting fixtures be installed and have them placed over the two mirrors we will be hanging over the double sinks.
We are not interested in purchasing any items. We are interested in labor costs only.

I am looking to get an estimate on some work I need to do on my house.
Late last year we had a leak in our old, cast iron waste pipe. We had the affected pipe replaced, but we are hoping to get the rest of the old pipe replaced (Kitchen to attic). We currently have a hole in our kitchen wall, and are assuming another hole would be needed in the bathroom directly above, both of which would need to be fixed. As well, the upstairs bathroom needs some work: replaced flooring (leaning towards tile), install new sink and toilet, stripped and reglazed bathtub.
We have purchased a condo in Hamilton, Ontario that is approximately 40 years old. The two full bathrooms have not be updated since the original build. We would like to gut both bathrooms and redo them. This would include a standard tub (60" X 30") and shower in each. New tile for tub walls and floors, new vanity, sink and toilet for both bathrooms. They will also require new light fixtures installed. The bathrooms are a standard 4' X 5'.
Painting can be left to us.
Just want the grout redone and looking to have an "L-Shaped" barrier put up along the floor of the shower. Approx 3 inches in height to ensure water stays inside. Also looking to have the shower re-grouted.
If you have expertise and can only do one and not the other, please let me know in your response.
If the price and workmanship are good, there will be more work available as I have small to medium sized jobs pretty consistently
Not going to respond to offers that cannot give me a quote based off the pictures.
Please respond with the following questions for a response:
1. Name / Business name and contact #
2. Some background of your work experience - What steps would you take to restore the shower tiles or make the bottom barrier?
3. price quote
4. Do you have a registered business or general handyman ?
5. Availability during the week and weekends
Thanks for your time
Tub and shower need to be replaced as they are leaking into the downstairs. Interested in installing a standing shower stall and redoing the plumbing to fix the issue. Potentially interested in a full remodel - replacing the floor, vanity, and installing a fan depending on price. Don't need to use any fancy materials, just stuff that will last.
6' x 8.5' bathroom.
Hi there,

Need someone to install a Schluter kerdi shower with 12x24" and a vertical glass tile accent. Previous contractors spot bonded and exceeded maximum thinset bed depth when installing tile so it's a teardown, old contractors are demoing the shower and the electrical and plumbing should be done for you already, so the only thing you have to worry about is the shower. Shower requires tiling of approx 110 sq feet.
Your responsibilities:
- Update/replace building permit
- Waterproof window jamb for window present in the shower
- Install wet rated ceiling into bathroom
- Properly install kerdi board shower to the manufacturers specifications with customer provided tiles
- Install frameless glass shower door
- Should have experience with glass tile installation -- previous contractor also had trouble with this and lippage/gapping was bad
- All steps of the process will be documented and photographed by the customer for the purpose of the Schluter kerdi warranty program
- Absolutely NO shortcuts allowed -- no spot bonding!
Kitchen also requires tile flooring -- open to offering more work depending on performance of shower installation.

I am looking to have my standard size tub removed and a walk in shower instead. I live in a condo so common fixtures (the drain) can not be moved. Condo rule say licensed and insured.
I am looking to have a solid or tiled base with ceramic tile walls. I will need new tap, no faucet at the bottom. I will keep the existing shower head.
I am willing to go up to $6000. Please quote with and without glass doors. I may keep a temporary tension rod with my shower curtain for the time being.
The pictures below are of my current tub.
Small bathroom Reno. Room will be gutted taking out tub to put in walk in shower. i am going to use a marble composite called mr.marble from lowes.it comes in 2 sides plus a back panel and base measuring 60x32. Also new vanity , sink , taps and vanity top, new toilet and install a laminate floor. Not sure if a new sub floor is need or not also a new bathroom light and window.
Our house is almost 60 years old. We would like to renovate the small bathroom in our two bedroom bungalow. The old ceramics must go as well as the acrylic tub, sink/vanity, light fixture and medicine cabinet. If we buy the new fixtures including new steel bathtub, how much would it cost for LABOUR and materials like drywall etc. Oh Yes, the window needs replacing as well which we will buy.
Hi,
We have a small bathroom that we would like to renovate. New floor tile, new tile in shower stall, new bath tub, toilet & vanity install. We also have a ledge in the shower and want to install a small wall so the shower head can come out directly from the wall.
There is currently tile on the walls throughout but we can remove that.
We also have a banister on the second floor that is loose. We would like to replace it with a wood bannister.
We also have other future projects that we would like to have quotes on so that we can have an idea of pricing so we can plan for future renos.
Basement bathroom is very small (66x59) includes an enclosed shower stall (35x34) toilet and sink with cabinet underneath.
Shower needs to be ripped out and rebuilt - tiles are coming off, and underneath the drywall is rotten.
The walls are tiled to 4 feet high, and painted above. Tiles will need to be removed and redone in entire room, as well as repainting.
Entire job *MUST* be completed by August 8th. Please do not ask to quote unless you are free to do this work this week or next week at the latest.
