We have an existing finished basement, however we are converting a portion of our basement to a separate 1 bedroom rental unit with a separate below grade entrance. The entrance is already built and is not in scope.
Total work:
1. 1 bedroom
2. 3 piece bathroom
3. 2 piece powder room
4. Kitchen, all plumbing and electrical
5. This is a legal unit and I have the legal permit from the city of Oakville. So all the work has to be done as per code and you will be responsible in working with the city inspectors and getting the work done. Here is a part of the drawing from the permit which gives you an idea of the work.
To convert a spare space in a working studio. Two sets of existing sliding closet doors need to be installed on new tracks. Two electrical outlets , laminate flooring to be installed, a small inside sliding window approx. 24"x18" to be encased and fitted, paint ceiling and walls and stairway/hallway.
