I own a house in downtown Toronto. There is an old retaining wall at the far end of my yard that requires reconstruction. It is about 30 feet wide, and about 7 feet high. Extending my neighbours Gabion wall is a possible solution. The retaining wall is in a location where appearance is not an issue.
Hello, I need somebody ( landscape? grading contract? ) to look at this issue. Water sits beside my house and the neighbours house because of poor grading - slope towards both houses. when it rains water sits there and i am afraid is damaging my foundation.
I need help with this and i am ready to hire somebody that could give me a solution and execute it well.
Thanks,
Marco
I am looking to do an excavation in front of my basement windows approx. 12 feet by 2 feet.
I need to protect two of my basement windows that sit low on my driveway that is slowly allowing moisture into the walls.
Raise my backyard to angle the water from my ravine towards the driveway and away from the house.
Remove any mould or moisture that is in my basement walls and floor.
The following breaks down a few more details :
1.front entrance stairs / landing need to be overhauled ( secured from further sinking and sliding toward sidewalk placing some concrete low height retaining L shaped wall around, wedged against the sidewalk)
2 shrubs bed in front of stairs landing against sidewalk redesign and secure it against sliding and sinking ( same retaining wall will do the same)
3. flagstone pavers installation on front entrance stairs and landing
4. installation of two somewhere three rows of 6x6 pavers along side yard fence placed against the sidewalk approximately 75 feet long
Project constraints:
Limited execution duration, max 12 business days including Saturdays, starting as of second week of July ( July 04, Monday)
Location of site is Etobicoke, close to Hvys 427/401
In case that company is interested in taking on this project, previous site visit is a must followed with graphical presentation of proposed design, suggested material specification and quote which breaks down cost of material and labour.
Contract includes industry standard for material and labour warranty.

Our house is a 50's bungalow in South Etobicoke. We need the old concrete step in front of the house removed and replaced with a new larger version. The new "veranda" needs to be covered from the weather and large enough for some chairs. This job will also require some minor landscaping to change the approach to the step. We are looking to have people come by and give quotes on the job during the week of Monday July 12th to Friday July 16th. If you choose to communicate using the phone number attached please text instead of calling, I will respond.
I live on a ravine, and the ground between me and my neighbour has a slope. My retaining wall is failing, and the stairs are collapsing. I also need the land (gravel and grass) revelled away from my house at the back. I would prefer to use a timber retaining wall as I have had problems with concrete in the past.
Thanks!
Hello,
I have an urgent retaining wall support project.
The scope of the project will define my decision to close or not to close on a property purchase.
I have detailed plan and drawings for the work, but I will need quotes in the next 48 hours.
Work to begin immediately after purchase (upon permit approval)
Feel free to call me.
Ben
We are two neighbours working together to repair the area where our properties abutt.
We're located near St. Clair Avenue West and Christie Street.
My neighbour's existing wood retaining wall and stairs have collapsed causing my concrete walkway to sink and shift away from my home's foundation.
I would like to repair/replace my entire walkway at the same time which would be separate quote from the retaining wall/stairs/walkway portion of the project.
My name is Judy and my neighbour is Sheree.
The stone retaining wall is roughly 1.5m by .75m high. It is leaning outwards at a noticeable angle. We are looking for a solution that will straighten and strengthen the wall and that will be as economical as possible. The flagstone path is curved and is roughly 1.5m long. the path is located very near the retaining wall. The earth has eroded from underneath some of the flagstones, leaving some of the sides sticking out. The flagstones could be re-laid, but we also want to explore other path materials. The main considerations are practicality and cost.
We're looking for someone to do soil grading away from our house (front and side), possibly put in some sort of drain (if applicable), and to re-sod. , off 401. We are a corner property. Front area of work is about 25' wide x 10' Side area is about 12' x 40'. Looking for contractor with track record in excavating/regrading soil and improving soil drainage. (Soil in our area is clay-based). Eager to get moving with this project, pending references and price, ideally before HST July 1.
Other/future projects: Replacing walkways (interlock), pave 2.5 car driveway.
Install 900 sq ft of sod on bare yard (no grass currently). Front of house, level with curb, easy access.
In advance, will need to till soil and skim 2 inches of dirt in some areas to level off a bit more, but won't need bin. Can deposit extra soil on site.
Will need to add topsoil, fertilize, install sod, and roll.
Looking to have an experienced landscaper design and install a corten steel Retaining Wall for our backyard. We will fabricate and supply all steel components of this project (we are in the business). Would need engineered drawing provided and would be looking for a contractor that will take care of the permits. The grade of the back yard varies from one side to another.
I'm looking to put new interlock in my front walkway. It's currently approx. 15' x 4', looking to widen it to 15' x 10'. I may also be interested in putting curb stones (or concrete) around the front yard, maybe new grass, and other stone repair around the house.
I'm located in Toronto around the Dupont/Landsdowne area (Dupont/Symington to be exact).
