I purchased a home in Toronoto's Upper Beaches. I am renovating the kitchen and would like the kitchen Window enlarged. Depending on the kitchen design I have two options:
1) Simply enlarge the current kitchen window vertically downwards about 3/4 foot.
2) Close the current window space and create two seperate smaller windows that rest to the left and right of a stove hood fan.
The house is all brick (no siding).
I am looking for a quote for both these options and would like the work done ASAP.
Many Thanks,
Marilena
Transom window consist. of two (2) sliding windows. Each about 1.5 ft H x 6 ft W. The top of the windows is at the end of the flat roof and from the bottom of the window starts a inclined shingle roof. This roof have no attic - the room below has casedral celling. The transem windows looks to the north. I belive that the windows are liking when there is a rain and strong Northern wind. The last time - this spring. Few years ago we have make a small halls in the bottom part of the window frame to let the wahter to escape. But the holles are probably filled with dirt. I need to assess what should be done, check the damage after the last leak and repaire it.
Issue: Leaking Window
Size of Window: 82" x 63"
Position: Tenants of Office Building
We have a large, old window in our office which is leaking. The water seems to condense on the ceiling above the window and then drip down. If it rains, the water nearly floods down the side wall of the window. We have had someone come in from our building management who has re-caulked and re-sealed the edges of the windows, but the leaking still happens.
Please reach out through the email provided for any further questions or offers.
We had an extension put on our house in summer 2012. We also replaced the windows in the basement for the old part of the house. Currently it looks like we have some leakage from the front of the house and I am thinking it might have something to do with the window that was replaced at the beginning of the house.
Can I get someone to look at this and if this is the problem - give me a quote to fix it?
Thanks
Christine
The church was constructed in 1940 and now the wooden window surrounds in the basement hall are rotting. The complication is that there is a children's playground abutting the hall and the level of the playground has risen over the years, above the level of the window sills. The thought is that it would be easier to raise the window sills rather than lower the playground. Window wells are not an option because of safety concerns for the children.
The hall is approximately 70 feet long and 10 feet high and there are 5 outside windows to be replaced. The attached PDF shows the entire church layout. The room in question is the auditorium on the second page on the right-hand side.
The project would consist of removing the existing windows, bricking up the the rough opening to above grade and replacing the windows with security glass and adequate thermal insulation.
I represent the church accessibility committee overseeing church renovations.
I just had new windows installed. My house is 16 feet wide. I had one window centered on the second floor, I wanted 2 windows instead of 1. The window company cut an 11 foot opening and installed the windows but they didn't install a lintel. I called them to fix it, so they came by and installed a lintel from the outside. My house has 2 layers of brick and there is nothing supporting the inner layer. I need someone to remove a row of bricks and install 2 (11 foot) lintels(1 for each layer of brick) above my windows, then replace the layer or layers of brick. I need a quote ASAP.
Thanks

We are looking for a contractor who can help us intsall new solid masonite doors in the upstairs of our home (there are five of them) and fix/replace the door frames where necessary - some are crooked and none of them are in very good shape.
The second part of this project involves expanding the closet in our master bedroom by stealing some space from an adjacent linen closet and opening up the closet opening, installing new doors, etc.

On the top of the door, the glass is broken. I would like to have an experienced door installer who can advice and do the job. The house is located close to Gerrard-Broadview intersection at Toronto
Please text any time or call (after 4 PM during weekdays and all day during week end).

The project is for making and installing two glass doors in the newly remodeled shower stall.
Approximate dimensions of each door are 23.5" W x 70"H. The doors will be on hinges and will have knob handles.
Center glass panel above the sink 24"W x 35.5"H is already available. Most likely, it can be reused (no need to manufacture it) - it just needs to be installed.
1. Take exact measurements to ensure that the gaps around the closed doors are not more than 1-2 mm.
2. Manufacture and Install the doors.
3. Install center panel.
Installation to be done in a condo unit, occupied by the owner.
Contractor parking and cargo elevators are available.
W are looking to replace our master bedroom window with a larger window. House is a 1920's brick home, double layer brick work to contend with. Access is easy via addition roof. Will require masonary rebuild for surround and installation of new window. On interior will require the necessary re-plastering on lath and plaster walls as well as moulding around window.
We also require some additional insulation work to be done on the home. This can be a separate quote.
This project is linked to the replacement of all house windows planned for the late summer. A vendor/contractor has been chosen for the windows, this project relates to the master bedroom window exclusively.
We wish to hire a contractor to make the opening of the master bedroom window larger. The master bedroom is on the second floor facing the garden (east). It is approximately 26 x 56 inches. We'd like to double the width of the opening to approximately 50 inches.
Timing is critical. Once a date has been set for the work, it will have to be completed within a day or two to facilitate coordination with the window company.
We have a brick house built in 1905.

At the moment we are simply looking to arrange with someone that knows how to install interior doors and frames. We will purchase 5 - six panel bedroom doors to again be installed upstairs. If you are willing to take this job on for $400.00 then simply let me know what experience you have and the moment we receive keys on the 24th will call you to arrange for you to complete work on either of your choice of the 26, 27 or 28th. When you arrive to our house we can take the measurement of the doors and will ride with you to Lowes or you can purchase them give us receipt and will reimburse you up to you, once I purchase them you can take them back to the house to install, so you would have to pick them up from store and drive them to house. Who ever we hire you would have to have experience and have whatever tools nesscessary to complete job.
Thanks. All replies welcome.
The back door to our house (32") swings out. We would like to install a door that swings in and depending on the new door chosen a screen door. The new door needs to have a large window as this provides all of the natural light in our kitchen.
We would like to install an exterior door on our garage that opens into the garage. Right now the door is an old interior door that is falling apart and opens out. We would like the door to have a window in the top half. The door area will need to be enlarged as it is currently 24".
Requirements:
- Provide all materials and tools
- Installation of two doors
- Clean up of work areas each day until project is complete.
- Locksmithing to match locks on both doors with the same key
