Hello.
I live in North Burnaby and am looking for quotes to install flooring in my apartment.
This area is currently carpeted.
Estimated area: approx 550 sq.ft
Preferred material: Laminate / Engineered Hardwood
I am the owner of the property
I am looking for a quote on the installation costs.
Thanks, Abhijit
ESTIMATE REQUIRED
My husband and I have just purchased a 2400 sq ft town home in Burnaby.. We take possession on March 30 and are planning on moving in April 8.
Currently the main floor and the upstairs are carpeted and the basement has laminate flooring. We would like to replace the carpet on the main floor with laminate to match the laminate in the basement. We would also like to replace the flooring in the kitchen with tile. For the upstairs we would like to replace the carpet (there are three bedrooms). We would like to have carpet on both sets of stairs.
We would also like to have the whole house painted.
These are the dimensions from the listing:
Main F. Living Room 15' X X 14' X X Main F. Kitchen 12' X X 8' X X Main F. Dining 12' X X 10' X X Main F. Family Room 10' X X 10' X X Above Master Bedroom 18' X X 13' X X Above Bedroom 10' X X 10' X X Above Bedroom 12' X X 9' X X Above Den 9' X X 6' X X Bsmt Recreation Room 23' X 22' Bsmt Laundry 8' X 5'
The house will be available on March 30/31 for a detailed quote.
Hardwood planning
We plan to replace carpeting for a recommended type of wood floor in our living /dining area, hallways and a bedroom used as TV room. Our son Daniel has measured the areas which come up to an estimated 430 square feet. Condo bylaws require acoustic underlay and vapor barrier. My wife and I are returning back to Canada by June 01, but our son is vacating the apartment by the end of April and we want to start planning this spruce up job and doing it right upon arrival.
I've got a 1300 sqft townhome in Burnaby, house is built in 2002, I've got a 3 yr old toddler at home like the contractor to be considerate of that we'll need to live through the Reno and would like to keep the timeline tight about 1.5 week. Also may need help removing furniture for reno.
Project #1
I'd like to install engineered hardwood on all the floors not including stairs.
Project #2
Replace appliances and install (range, fridge, diswasher)
Replace counter and sink with (Granite)
Work Site
5min from Edmonds Skytrain station in Burnaby, BC
High-rise built in 2007
Concrete subfloor (TBC)
Selection Process
Based on your initial responses (estimate, material discount, experience), I plan to choose a couple contractors and meet during July 14 - 17 on the work site to make a final decision.
Schedule
Work is to be performed and completed between July 22 - July 29. I will have the key after July 13, but I'd like to do some work in the first week such as wall painting before flooring.
Scope of Work
This tender is for the labour to install laminate wood floor and carpet in a one bedroom apartment unit. Materials are not purchased yet, so I'd like to know if you could provide sources with contractor discounts or even include in the job.
1. Laminate floor Installation area: 225 sq.ft - in living room
2. Carpet installation area: 155 sq.ft - in bedroom and closet
3. Rooms will be prepared for you. Existing carpets, baseboards, molding/trim will be removed, so don't include in your estimate. I will re-install them myself afterwards.
4. Labour estimate should only include installing the laminate and carpet.
5. The building By Law requires the underlay for the flooring to be installed with a minimum rating of IIC71, STC73 - not sure if this is labour related.

Would like laminate flooring for approximately 730 sq ft which covers the 2 bedrooms, kitchen, living & dining area of my apartment. This project includes carpet removal & disposal. The apartment is built in Dec, 2008 and is a 4 level condo building. The underlay must have a minimum of 70 IIC & 50 STC. I can buy the materials separately for the installation, unless a package price is better.
In addition, I'm interested in painting my apartment at the same time. The entire apartment is 860 sq ft.
Approx. 160 sq. ft. Living Room in a frame construction 3rd floor condominium building in Burnaby BC requires the following:
- stripping off existing carpet flooring;
- installing natural oak looking laminate flooring on acoustic underlayment.
- quote price including breakdown by cost of materials and cost of labour, before and after tax.
- give the specification and state the acoustic rating of the proposed underlayment.
Contract award and Start Date are contingent upon the Strata Council's approval of the underlayment's specification and acoustic rating.
Final price to be based on actual measurement.
Thank you!
We have a lounge area with a carpeted floor that needs a new floor. It's approximately 2500 sq ft of floor (ballpark).
Expectations:
- remove and dispose of carpet etc
- supply and install vinyl plank floor (open to other flooring solutions) and baseboards
- paint baseboards to match existing colour
One interesting aspect is that there's a square section of floor in the middle of a room (the room is 38' x 20') which currently is not carpeted and must remain somehow distinguished from the rest of the floor (eg. currently that square is flooring while the rest is carpeted).
I think the stain could be animal's urinate spots. I have rented the house out and the floor was carpeted then, but the carpet now is too dirty, so I peeled the carpet, and discovered that there is hardwood floor underneath the carpet, but the bad part is that there are dark stain markings on some of the planks of wood in the hallway and some deep grooves on the living room area.
Hi,
We would like to replace our old Lino/Vinyl Floor and install a new Vinyl floor for both our kitchen and storage.
Dimension are: Kitchen 6ftX12ft. Storage 13.5ft X 6.5ft.
Kitchen has appliances (range, fridge, dishwasher). Storage has appliances as well (washer dryer, electric, separated - not stocked). Appliances needs to be moved before. I can move most of them, beside maybe the washer.
No base boards needs to be removed.
In your quote, please break it down to: removal of old floor, removal of appliances, levering, and installation (if any other item needs to be added, please add it). Also - it's pretty urgent project, which we would like to finish as soon as possible.
Also - If you think we don't need to remove the old vinyl but rather install the new vinyl on top of the old one, please let me know. If you have any other ideas how this can be done better please let me know as well ;-)
I will send pictures if needed to allow you to give us accurate estimate.
Thanks,
Nir
Condo living room 20 ft x 12 ft (approx) needs:
Old carpet removed/disposed; installation of sound proof lining, laminate floor(pref 22mm), baseboard, transition of 5ft from living room to kitchen tile. Kindly quote approx. materials cost separate from installation charges; yrs of warranty, completion time. I live on the third floor so sound/noise proofing has to be good. Under the old carpet is concrete so sub-flooring may not be needed. I can move most furniture pieces and breakables. Entertainment center and loveseat may be moved to clear work area in the process. Must be willing to sign a work contract.
I am fixing up a place of an elderly.
I have taken the carpet off and underlay.... most of it.
I would like to install a laminate, not too expensive.
The owner is in a home.
Purpose of this is to have a clean presentable place when time comes to sell.
Laminate to be installed with acoustic underlay.
Tks.
Nicole
Hi,
We need a little more work done in our basement. We need some vinyl plank flooring laid down in a small room (6.3 x 8) in our basement, (the last room) plus baseboards put in for that room, two doors refitted and 3 door casings for 3 doors refitted in the basement. (The doors need to be lowered now that the subfloor was taken out throughout the basement and new vinyl plank flooring put in ...over cement.)
Plus our stairs needs to be finished...using our old baseboards...*everything has been painted and is ready to go...no demo or removal required.
See pictures attached.
