Initially charming and responsive, just hope there’s no issues- cause the warranty is worthless.
GTCC Reno’d our bathroom in early 2021 (completion in Jan). A leak developed after 20 months (Sept 2022). It’s warranted by GTCC for 2 years. John, the Owner stated in writing it was covered when I reported on September 29, 2022.
He has yet to make any attempt to come on site, he stated he’d need “his plumber to review” - made no request to come on site. Just asked me to let him know how MY leak investigation happens.
I outlined the investigation, that I did myself. I signalled the results to him in writing on October 19, 2021 :the leak was isolated to the toilet, when flushed, that was installed during the Reno’s that GTCC carried out, and that were still under warranty. No action. He asked where the water was being observed, which I told him. No offer to come look or address, just asking where the water is. No response for weeks after I responded.
I followed up after 3 weeks to tell him I would be getting a plumber to fix. He wrote back a week later asking if I had done so. I told him I had and shared the time. When plumber rescheduled I told him it would be 2 days later. No action or response, or request to attend - I even suggested his plumber should attend if they want to examine. No follow up for 6 weeks.
Fed up with zero communication in over 6 weeks, on Jan 7 I told him the plumber had come, as I told him pulled/re-installed the toilet since he found the problem with the wax seal (installed by GTCC) and the leak has been fixed. No response. As such I requested he make good on the warranty (I.E. pay for the repairs since he couldn’t be bothered to send someone over 8 weeks between me reporting/ he confirming it’s under warranty) to when it was fixed.
I’ve been ghosted.
Buyer beware. The work will be done, but good luck getting him to stand by it.
Greater Toronto Custom Contractors recently completed a large reno project (2 bathrooms & kitchen) and did a fantastic job. John is a very responsive contractor, who offered helpful suggestions throughout the process. All of the work was of top quality, stayed on budget and was completed before the very tight deadline. Throughout the process, John consistently kept us updated on progress and was able to quickly resolve any unanticipated issues. John assembled a team that were all a pleasure to work with and were able to make our vision a reality. Avtar Tiwana of Magnum Kitchen, one of John’s associates also deserves recognition. He designed and installed our kitchen within an incredibly tight schedule and worked with us to ensure that we got a kitchen that met our needs. I would highly recommend GTCC and would definitely hire this company again.
Greater Toronto Custom Contractors did excellent job in our bathroom. Their workers were true professionals and also very polite. Whole project was finished in 5 days and on originally agreed time. I highly recommend this company.
Our 1984 basement addition had an unexplained leak. We received several suggestions for repair and quotes. Greater Toronto Custom Contractors came up with the least invasive and lowest quote. They delivered on time and cleaned up beautifully after themselves. No unexpected extras and very pleasant work crew.
Thanks so much, Irene! It was a pleasure working for you. Hope you are doing well!
