Justin Fletcher and his Just In Time Repairs crew were incompetent and dishonest. He was in charge of renovating two bathrooms, building three kitchen cabinets and several minor jobs to start in May and finish in June as it was “promised”. The rest, such as varnishing/staining the floors, putting in new garage/front door, and painting the entire house was done by outside companies and contractors through him. Only their work was finished and competently done. Nearly everything Just In Time Repairs did was only partially completed with poor workmanship, which did not justify the price in the end.
We hired him because he seemed to have a good eye, seemed to be knowledgeable, and his price was quite reasonable and in-line with other quotes.
I can testify to the other review by Melissa from Montreal, meaning our situations were definitely not a one-time occurrence. Almost everything she has written has happened to us as well, especially the poorly respected working schedule and poor work ethic with many absences resulting in an unfinished project that dragged on way beyond the agreed deadline. The project could have been easily finished on time except they only consistently showed up to work in the first few weeks. Justin’s response to her review is just like the many excuses he constantly comes up with in order to explain his poor conduct.
Due to the incompetence of him and his crew, they also managed to fill and block the shower drain pipe with concrete. Since it is a bathroom in the basement, the ground had to be broken through to replace the pipe and the rest of the floor. It took him several months to fix this mistake.
He had the door company bill us instead of Justin, even though we paid him already for the garage and front doors. We had no choice but to pay the company since their doors were installed already. As a result, he has apparently been blacklisted by this major door company in Montreal.
Overall, the handiwork and finishing of Just In Time is quite poor. For example, our kitchen cabinets that he built us were quite cheaply made and as a result very overpriced at 2500$ for the three cabinets above the sink.
We are quite disappointed there were no bad reviews written before we hired Justin. There are more things we could've written about but these are some of the major ones. To top it all off, he and his new assistant tried to get us to write a five-star review and good comments before he would come in to "finish" the job. Even then, he would only show up with one other person for a couple hours a few times with nothing much done. We eventually had to hire another contractor in October to work on the renovations. We hope this review is helpful and we do not recommend anyone to take a risk on Just In Time Repairs.
