Never finished the job. I have drywall sitting in my kitchen with unfinished work throughout the house. They removed pantry cupboards and punctured the walls and just put mud over it to cover it up.

FRAUD ALERT!!!

Jonathan Osterhout takes your deposit and runs, no work done, then BLOCKS you when you request your refund! This is FRAUD!!! Report him to the police and file a complaint to the Consumer Bureau. Therefore, he may lose his contractor license and never steals from another customer or mistreat his employees again.

RED FLAG! We found Jon Osterhout & his company Woodrow Contracting Group Facebook and took our chances. It's become painfully evident that we made the wrong call.

When our 3-week bathroom reno began, we understood that there had been a project manager assigned and things appeared to be up and running. Quickly discovered that no matter how many times we asked what to expect nothing was going according to plan, beginning with Jon having pulled the project manager from our project. We began then to see that Jon himself was run ragged, did not have the ability to keep up with all the work he was committing to and it was impacting our job.

We had a series of missteps with the company building our bathroom cabinetry and Jon completely dropped the ball in our laps to deal with most of the issues. He seized the opportunity to manipulate what he sensed was our impatience with him into redirecting that frustration at the cabinet company. I became my own contractor.

Now, 2.5 months into our 3-week renovation, Jon Osterhout has disappeared. He has attempted to remove any mention of Woodrow Contracting and his own profiles from social media as he knew his angry clients would be all over that. Any positive reviews for Woodrow or Jon that we’ve found online we can now identify as having been written by his own staff – we recognize the names. We are not the only clients whose project is sitting in a state of not being complete enough to use – there are some whose jobs are in a much worse state than ours and who are out far more money than us. He shut down operations, also abandoning his staff who have not been paid. We also have discovered that his contracted sub tradesmen were also not paid for any work completed in our home or on other jobs!

Fair warning – while Woodrow Consulting Group may disappear – AVOID Jon Osterhout in whatever form he may try to reinvent himself. He has proven himself not to be trustworthy in the least.

Gave Johnathan half deposit on a deck build in March 2021. We were told the deck would be done at beginning of June 2021. Johnathan came and took out the old deck, he then subcontracted the deck build to someone else. The subcontractor came and started the build, when he was half finished he was told to stop working on the deck. After that Johnathan disappeared and no one can find him. The subcontractor did come back and finish the deck to which it was very much appreciated however we are now out of the deposit. He will be sued.

At the beginning Jonathan Osterhout was very convincing and mention he has other Condo projects and basement projects, so I decided to give him the 3 season sunroom and landscaping project. Gave 16K deposit in Apr, and no services and work has been done, the drawing of the sunroom suppose to completed within a month after the deposit but that never happened.

With all the delay and lack of communication, I requested to refund the deposit as there's no sign of work in progress, but he is not returning message or picking up calls.

Signed a contract with owner (he was very enthusiastic and convincing at the time) in January 2021. Gave 10K deposit. Work was supposed to take 1-2 months (basement renovation). Work started but quickly changed to a very slow pace, and despite this, Jonathan Osterhout (owner) requested more money to pay his trades in advance 10K. I have since been told he didn't pay any of them in advance. Work was sporadic with no outline of the project. His last promise was to have it complete by June 15th 2021, and he again requested another 10K. I obliged unfortunately. Last week, work stopped, he is not returning calls or emails, according to the original estimate he has completed about 18K worth of work and has been paid 30K. My basement is in shambles- I have drywall and primer, everything else is unusable and I will have to pay out of pocket to rectify. Before calling this business, check Court of Queens Bench (small claims are starting to come in!) and all reviews. It is all true and all bad!!

Let this be your red flag. I hired Woodrow in October 2020 to finish a basement bathroom project. I provided a deposit / installment premium in October. Work began mid November. Work was slowly progressing (framing / mudding) and I provided a second installment Dec 29. 20 days after I provided a second installment payment with minor work completed Jon wanted the full payment for the project. I declined providing the full payment and offered another deposit payment as work was not even remotely close to being completed. I had already provided over 60% of the funds for this project with roughly 40% of the work completed. After speaking with Jon he immediately lost all professionalism and began degrading me, was extremely rude and made it clear he had other priorities. He then chose to ignore my emails, texts, and phone calls. 30 days later he terminated my contract for failure to pay in full. To further this experience I was extremely accommodating on his leisurely time frame after he went through three different plumbers (delaying project over a month), installed the framing incorrect (did correct it) cut a water line by accident, disconnected my laundry without notifying me, disconnected the hot water to my shower, and nicked walls hauling materials into my home. I cannot recommend doing business with this company.
