Addition

We live in a bungalow, and would like to build an addition where the garage is located.

We would remove the garage and want to place the addition onto the existing foundation from the garage. There would be no basement under the addition.

How would we do this?

hi there

anything is possible, you 'll need drawings and a permit, which the architect, will

investigate, wheather or not its worth saving the current foundation,

Joe is correct. A test dig would have to be done to ascertain whether the existing foundation and footings is satisfactory and planning/permit depart would like an architect or engineer's stamped opinion in this regard. From our experience, older garages do not have sufficient footings to support an addition nor do they have a weeping tile system that would be required.
