We have the dark type blanket insulation. Roxul? Around 4 basement window openings the blankets are trimmed and tuck taped with red tuck tape that is coming off, not holding and the insulation is exposed. Is it to code? No vapour barrier where trimmed.

Thanks

Roxul is Mineral wool insulation. If you have fibreglass its not ruxol. Mattamy uses a darker colored fiberglass batt in their construction.

All vapor barrier joints are to tuck taped and no exposed insulation by code.

Mattamy Homes Are insulated with Pink Owens Corning Or In your case Knauff Blanket insulation. I've insulated over a 1000 Mattamy Homes with blanket over the years. A lot of times the windows are flush or push in from concrete foundation walls never clean surface a lot of times windows not in at time of install of insulation ( which makes tape impossible to stick ) Blanket insulation without a Moisture Barrier behind it is A Low end Insul job that should be removed before finishing basement . Craig is right the vapour barrier is to be 100%. If you look at your joist pockets there is Probably holes everywhere in the poly allowing moisture into walls. The Majority of installers are all Piece workers that DON'T care about the Quality of install and the Inspectors are Just looking for Min to meet code.
