House in original condition, 100 years old, in Vancouver. Two stories (1400 sq.ft.) plus unfinished basement (700 sq.ft.).
How much to renovate totally?
Needs new plumbing, electrical, roof, siding, etc. I can't find price per square foot costs for this type of reno.
Thanks so much for responding!
Hi Shana,
In the GTA and the Niagara Region you are looking from 395,000.00 to 440,000.00 depending on the quality of finishes.
I have family that lives in North Vancouver on mountain side.
I know that the contractors charge more out there, so expect higher quotes from the locals.
Shame you don't live out this way, I would be happy to renovate for you. But then you would be living in three feet of snow right now.
But back to the question at hand. I would strongly consider bulldozing and building new.
I have renovated many home in downtown Toronto that were as old as yours. And it was one nasty surprise after another. And every surprise costs money. Some of them considerable amounts.
Good luck,
James Fram
