thank you for the answers. is that 12" from the window regardless of combustible material? i.e: if the trim is vinyl or aluminum, not an issue, but if wood...?

Hi,

I'm not sure if you have ever owned a gas range, specially one with a gas oven, it produces an enormous amount of heat at back of stove where the heat from oven scapes let alone if you're using the back burners simultaneously. The window pane seals would definitely alter and window would deteriorate quickly, specially during winter. Whether or not its allowed i would definitely keep away from any stove placement beneath a window. Check the stove manual, it contains lots of "can't do's" information. Hope this helps. Miguel.
