General per sqft construction cost calculation

Assuming its a basement you are doing, in and around $65/sf is a reasonable rate.

Thank you Tyler. I'm looking for individual price per sqft for painting, flooring, framing, drywalling. Is there any ball park number for calculating those?

There is absolutely no way to sq/ft quote remodel work...too many variables. New house construction runs $200/sqft and is as a very rough estimate. Renovations are by the piece and what is involved, expenses etc. etc.

With materials' included you can expect the following from a reputable pro:

drywall: $3.75 sqft min. board & tape

framing: $30 ft 2x4 wood studs, metal about same

paint: $3.50 min.-$5 sqft calculated as per floor sqft..ceilings are from $1.50

flooring vinyl from $5/sqft & wood from $13-14/sqft

A total basement development currently runs from $45,000 min to 65,000 for average 600-1200 sqft...a secondary suite with 2 bedrooms expect from $70,000 and up.
