Currently residing our house using James Hardie siding (cedarmill plank) and using LP smart trim for corners and window trim. Following Alberta code for window drip cap but wanted to ask advice for trim options where corners meet band trim in specific to band trim above veneer stone. Really dislike the metal cap on exposed corners.
Any advice welcome.
Thanks
If possible post some pics.

Hey. It sounds like you've done some homework on your install, and you've selected a premium siding product for your place. Unfortunately, when it comes to something like this there aren't many options I know of. Other than a metal flashing, you might be able to use a capstone on top of your stone to help, but you're still going to need to have a dripcap to divert water onto the capstone - it would just help keep the flashing from being the most prominent protrusion.
Ultimately, the most important thing is to control the water. If it can be done in a way which doesn't detract aesthetically, then great, however do not forfeit a flashing just because it doesn't look good. Sometimes function has to trump fancy - especially when it comes to water.
Good luck!
