Hello,

My name is Chantal & i'm the administrative assistant here at Dream Touch Renovations. I can't speak for other companies but here at "DTR" we would not provide an hourly rate but a contract price. It usually is less expensive (better option) when it comes to doing a medium size job.

An hourly rate might become more expensive and I can't see any reputable company pricing out a job this way. Our company would only provide an hourly rate for a very tiny job since it would be the only way to price out the job.

I hope this answered your question.

Sincerely,

Chantal Regimbald

Handy man rates can vary but you may be in the 50$/hr range and up as some of these tasks are professional trades ie; plumber and electrician.

Some handyman companies can do all these items and if the references check or the referral comes from a reliable source that plumbing and electrical work was satisfactory than feel free to use them.

Call around but expect a min charge of 150$ for the first hour and 50-100 depending on company after that....plus any materials.

Hi Pam,

I would agree with Matthew. $50/hour with a 3 hour minimum is reasonable for a skilled handyman, that is reliable, has the proper insurance and the right tools. An hourly rate is a good way to make sure the work is done right and not rushed through, which can be the case with contract pricing. You would supply the materials or pay the contractor to supply them. Of course you need to discuss with the contractor the time frame for the work to be completed.

The first reply is a little confusing.

Hope this helps.

Steve.
