How do I choose a good Furnace?

I have a 12 1/2 year old house.

The builder had installed a gas furnace for the 1,835 sq ft house.

It is playing up and I know that I will have to replace the KEEPRITE (brand name) furnace one day

How do I choose a good furnace?

I am a layman and I do not know what to look for in a gas furnace.

But I will have to get one that would last longer then 13 years!

Thanks

Hi Martin, I personally use York on all my installs and highly recommend them. Go with a 2 stage furnace with ecm motor at minimum.

A few key things to make sure the furnace lasts long is proper maintenance, proper install and proper setup of the furnace during install.

Hi Martin,

I agree with you that making a decision on the right furnace for you can be overwhelming. There are so many different brands out there all claiming to be the best.

I would have to agree with KBS that proper installation and a nicely set up maintenance plan is key to extending the life of any piece of equipment.

Thanks

Hello Martin

I understand as consumer it can get pretty confusing to choose a brand from another.

There is always okay good and better

We at accutemp gta in. Always offer good and or better ! Over all we don't even offer the better which is premium brands / such as trane lennoz Carrier ! Why? Because they will break and work just as the good leave brand really and offers you the customer same warranty !

Most important part is really when it comes to furnace is to be installed professionally and of course maintained on annual basis ! And that's it you really shouldn't have any much issues with it and u do u have that 10 years parts warranty ! Furnace life spam is 15 to 20 years. If taken care of it well .

We service all male and brands and true me they all break down at some point ! Sure maybe the premium might break later than sooner how ever parts usually double the price and also harder to get them ! Unlike a good fair priced furnace that. The parts are more generic and can be available from More suppliers in town VS the premium brand you have got to go through the Manufacturer and then worry if they have in stock in stock - to conclude choose what your comfortable with price wise but more importantly don't try to save with choosing the cheaper contractor. Cause service and install of fair more important than the product itself.

Hello Martin,

All New Furnace has 10 Years warranty on the parts from manufacture. All high efficiency and ecm motors and 2 stage, not too much difference between them. But different design, shape and Brand name. Average life time 10 years. I can not tell you which one is better and works longer but I would say the most expensive brands Lennox and Carrier in the market after that all other brands same price and same quality.

Thank You

David

Honestly,

All furnaces are the same these days, average life expectancy is 12 to

15 years. If anyone tells you different be cautious. Single stage gas

furnace is good enough for most homes from 1500 square feet to 2500

square feet.
