I am turning an event space into a hair salon. There is no bathroom and I would need to build one in the space. I was wondering if this could be possible? There are water hookups because there is a bar and sink. What would plumbing and building of a 2 piece small bathroom be?
HI Britney,
A bathroom for a commercial space can vary depending on the location of the drains in the premises,( the price icreases significantly if yu have to dig the floor 15 ft to connect to main drains etc..) Also you would require certain requirements ,like the ocupancy, Wheelchair accesibility etc.
As a guestimate and if the drains and water lines and close the price would range between 7 and 15,000.Again without drawings and finishes schedule this is just a wild guess.

I agree with Bob. You will also need a permit for this. If you need to dig up a load of the existing floor to tie in the sewage with sufficient fall then this could really hike up the price. It may be easier to use a macerator in this case and you can pump the waste where it needs to go with just a 2" pipe and not have to worry about the fall. Only trouble is when someone puts a tampon or something in there you have a bit of a drama.. Best to get some quotes and see what's going to work best.
Good luck
Brittaney,
Why not call a contractor to come and see the space and go from there?
No one can give a quote on something they cannot see. You may have issues there you haven't thought of. The proverbial "can of worms"!
This is will cost you in the range of $7000 - $10000 based on how long you will dig in the floor. You have also to apply for a permit for such small commercial job.
Basic Renovation 40sq is around 5k to 11k all depends quality. Around 61 hours job time.
